Lots of stuff but I didn't have time to browse more thoroughly.
Thanks op.
Went in this afternoon and lots of Christmassy bargains to be had. They had "fill a bag with cards for £1" though they mostly seemed to be for mothers day and "girlfriend at Christmas".
Settled for a few 10p packs of make-your-own Christmas crackers which I'm going to stuff with mini Boots goodies that I've collected with their offers.0 -

Hey all, thought i would let you know i have popped into the works today (Bromsgrove) and they have 10 cards for £1 but they are not very good cards.
Kidderminster sounds much better value for money!
There are no signs up about them closing down or anything like that and the xmas stuff is at 33p, no big bargains in there just yet!
It was the same in Beverley (East Yorks) and only slightly better in Hull. None worth sending to the children vikki_louise mentioned, imho.
The good news is that the Beverley store is staying open apparently :T but not sure about the Hull branchOh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0 -

Hi, first post here though I have been lurking for a while. Firstly sorry to anyone who might be losing their jobs at The Works.
Does anyone know if the shops that are closing are selling fixtures and fittings? I'm part of a large re-enactment society and would like to buy any packing crates that might be going from one of the stores.
Thanks!0 -

With regard post pals, ive have just cross posted this to a few other sites, one of them is a dog rescue site and im sure lots of the people on there will send cards from their dogs! Ive also called everyone i know that i think would get involved (lots of teachers in my family).
Ill pop down to the works tomorrow and pick up some cards and stickers etc.
Thank you for telling us about that site. Well done for coming up with such a wonderful idea.0
