I am enjoying the irony of your posting a reply that says nothing that hasn't already been said 12 times in this thread, at the same time as saying that you don't understand why the thread is so long.

yes very ironic, but it does get a bit annoying when everytime you open this ebay forum its full of bull$h1t like this.
ive just pushed it back to the top of the page again,oh dear.

    Just to update..

I have still not yet paid for the items. My response to the sellers last email has gone without a reply from him.

PowerSeller telephone support advised me to send the email, where the seller quotes £60 shipping costs, to them via the PowerSeller email webform and then they would investigate and take action.

    I did this on 3/3/08.

    I received an email response on 5/3/08, unfortunately it seems to be a bog-standard email;

    Hello xxxxx,

Thank you for forwarding on the details of this transaction. I am happy
to assist you further with this issue.

We'll investigate your report as soon as possible, usually within 24
hours. If necessary we'll take appropriate action against this member
(e.g. a warning or suspension) to ensure eBay remains a safe and
reputable place to buy and sell. However, as it's important that eBay
maintains member privacy, we can't share details of the action we take.

We know your time is valuable and we appreciate you taking a moment to
forward the details as we had requested. Please continue to inform us
whenever you have any cause for suspicion.

Thank you for helping to keep eBay a safe, fun place to buy and sell.

    Kind regards,

I've not heard anything further from the seller, nor eBay.

It seems to be quite ridiculous to request that when I ask for advice, to make a report, and then they cannot tell me their action as a result of the report, due to privacy issues.

How do eBay want me to proceed?
What will the seller do now?

    Who knows.

Anyway, they haven't filed NPB yet, and it is just over 7 days since the items were won.

I am hoping that they will agree to mutually cancel the transactions.

If i was the seller i would push you to pay and then if you don't file a NPB report.

7 NPB reports could be filed. Wouldn't this lead to a suspension?

And would you also be charging £60 postage in the first place? (against eBay rules RE excessive postage costs)

I have asked the seller to "mutually cancel" the purchases, if he does this then the only fees lost out on are the listing fees of approx £0.15 x 7 (all auctions started at 99p) - he gets the FVF's back.

What would filing an NPB report 7 times accomplish, besides maliciousness, and getting my account unfairly NARU'd?

The seller knows he is in the wrong, hence his insistance that he does not have to "explain" his postage costs, and that I pay for the items with his ridiculous fee.

it would mean other sellers don't have to put up with whinging after an auction entirely because you didn't bother to find out the information beforehand. yes it's a bit excessive; no i wouldn't pay it, but i wouldn't buy them and only then ask the questions...... i cannot see how you think you're in the right here!!

(and if it took me half an hour to pack something carefully - i don't know if this will - i might just charge a lot of money - to include materials, time AND postage - it's postage AND PACKAGING...... why is this so difficult to grasp?!)

So, 7 PCBs, at a total of £60 shipping, assuming maximum £20 actual "postage" costs, and packaging (more like £10-£12).

That leaves about £40 for the "time". Assuming you want £20 an hour, 2 hours to pack up? £10 an hour.. 4 hours to pack up?

    Sure, that's realistic.

You really don't have a clue, do you?
