A fantastic festive starter, if pricey, especially when served with a sprig of holly as decoration!0 -
Hard boiled eggs in cheese sauce.
Speaks for itself. 2 x hard boiled eggs, shelled and cut into halves. Pour cheese sauce over and slam into a hot oven for 5-10 minutes to brown. Serve with slices of bacon and any left over veg.

Polish 'pierogi'.
Mix grated cheddar with a lot of fried onion and boiled/mashed potato to form a firm paste filling.
Cut out rounds of pasta pastry with a cup.
Roll small (1" dia) footballs of the filling and crimp a round of pastry around each.
Dunk into fast-boiling water for 5 mins. Drain and serve with melted butter.0
