Embb - lovely houses, how do you clean the granite in them? Mines black with sparkly bits in and is a nightmare to keep clean, any professional secerts you can let me in too?
Dusty - only admitting this as I've a glass of wine but in answer to a question to Embb about how long to clean through, my house is a 6 bedroom and similar size to those, can go through complete hoover, clean bathrooms, mop floors and dust in about an hour and half to two hours working flat out. But I try and keep on top of it and do it in parts. And we're in the Midlands so yes, your money does go far compared to down where you are.Lightbulb moment 15th Feb 2007:doh: Now Debt Free and plan on it staying that way!

Dusty I do 2.5 hours in both but todays was only the upstairs which sported 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and a landing/stairs the size of heathrow airport, took me 1hr 20 minutes, I could have dne the entire house in 3 hours. The Doctors I do the whole house in 2.5 hours (but could do it in two, I slow myself down lol) and that has 3 bathrooms too, but there's no tidying to do just cleaning non- stop lol....I was suprised at how 'cheap' (I use that word loosely) they are, thought they'd be more than that if I'm honest.0

Tracy If you adopt me I'll tell you
I just use washing up liquid in water, then buff them up to a shine with a dry soft cloth they come up a treat. If they're particularly grubby still, a little bit of glass cleaner does the trick

Evening everyone.
Thanks for all your concern and advice over DS. He's been sick another twice - he can't even keep water down. His temp was up a bit, and then he was just laid on my knee for over an hour before he fell asleep - poor little man. It's scared me a bit as it is the first time he has seemed really ill - IYKWIM. I've rang DH and asked if he would mind cutting his night short. I rang him at 5:30 and got his answer machine, then he rang back later, and we had ten minutes of discussion about whether he would come home or not. He is going to go out for the meal with his mates - not drink, and then come back when they have finished. So probably about midnight.
He's annoyed me a bit, as i only rang after several hours of coping with it because it is blooming hard trying to comfort DS, clean up, and change both of us. The house stinks and probably will till i clean the rug with a carpet cleaner, and i had pulled my side from lifting DS. I feel bad i have had to ring, but why should he have a flaming boozy night out when i am struggling and nearly 32 weeks pregnant. If i need to go to the NHS clinic or anything like that, then i would definitely need help. MEN!!!
soappie sounds like a really successful day for you.
vanilla sounds scary - my brother did similar when he was about 2 - we were all asleep in bed, and he let himself out, and we only found him because a woman walking her dog spotted him toddling up the road in his pjs, and he knew where he lived so she walked him home. Particularly scary as we lived on a B road. The woman was also very reluctant to get too involved as she was worried how she would look escorting a toddler in PJs but thankfully her common sense prevailed. We will be hiding keys when DS is able to do night wanderings.
dusty - i read the shopaholic and baby at xmas. I really enjoyed it - read most of it on the car journey to ILs, and had DH in stitches too as i kept reading out the hilarious bits. I think i may look out for other books by her in the library.
tracey glad to hear sam is on the mend. I really don't know what to do for the best at the moment, but i am probably best to be with him while he needs me like you say. Have self certified myself for 3 days this week as i had a bit of the stomach bug too, but to be honest if charlie wasn't ill i would have struggled in.
Right, going to grab some food of some description - not sure what but i had the pie and mash earlier. I have a chick flick to watch. Might watch that now before DH comes home, as i certainly can't be faffed doing much else now.
See you all tomorrow.

So, my list:
[STRIKE]S&S kitchen[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]S&S bathroom[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]DW[/STRIKE]
WM
TD
fold clothes
[STRIKE]general tidy[/STRIKE]
hoover
wash floors (maybe)
OK, I've made a start. Think I might make a cuppa while I'm waiting for machines to finish and I'll fold some clothes. Hoover is just cooling down and then I'll finish that...0 -
Awwwww Michelle poor little mite......just keep giving him water until he's better, the doc once told me that having no food was ok but to give lots of fluids, could also try and cold damp cloth on his body and forehead to cool him down a bit, oh and Calpol type stuff... hope he gets better soon x0

Michelle, hope he gets better soon! The OH will come to his senses with the OH will be of more help with the second hopefully. My DH was like that with DS1, I was left to cope when he 'had' to go out or just 'wanted' to go out. I felt so angry about it. When DS2 came along I think he realised just how hard it was and now admits that with DS1 he was mostly an inconciderate ar**h*le. Still remember when DS1 had his first bad cold, I was panicing, a tiny baby who was ill and OH just abandoned me, saying he was fine. Yes, he probably was, but I was young, on my own (well living at his parents house which was worse than being on my own, MIL liked to snatch baby off me if I wasn't doing it right) and had this baby who would not shut up after 3 sleepless nights and days!!! Men!!!
Finally, finally, finally, finished the kids room!!! :j :j :j0 -
