Thanks mumoftwo for the warning! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That did amuse me! Wow! 70 of those peel off cards - you must have the patience of a saint. Didn't somebody else do a complicated wedding invitation card individually on this thread somewhere? I seem to have a vague (I'm getting old!) recollection of one early on in this thread...

Thanks for sharing your ahem, really flowery decoupage card, and well done for mastering your cuttlebug - it was a nice idea to thank your mum by making a card using it. I'm sure she'll love it...

Thanks, I didn't have the patience of a saint, was just stupid at the time ( 2 Christmasses ago) and didn't charge enough!!;) ;) Sat in front of the telly and stuck and cut, I also used the negatives, the lady in the shop showed me how to use this film to pull the negatives of the sheet, never again! But he did like them very much and so did his suppliers and customers, so it was worth it. He didn't want Christmas cards because they don't celebrate it but wanted Happy New Year cards, I also did inserts with the restaurant name. I love your unusual design, never seen that pattern before, it is really nice,

Thanks for that explanation, mumoftwo, I nearly gave up on that card last night the cutting was so frustrating! The peel-off design was one from a local docrafts supplier - a random one from the turny round rack :D - Thats all I know... I've never done them before and am not sure I'd want to again - I do like the effect tho' - I'm thinking of giving it to my brother-in-law who's just got engaged - the wedding is in December in the Phillipines and we (my family of 4) are all going over for it! Wow!... (Meeting the new relative-to-be next weekend, its all quite exciting...)

Love the cards quiksave and mumoftwo. I don't mean to be nosy mumoftwo, but how much did you charge for the 70 cards? I love the colour behind the emblem.
As I have said before I don't seem to have any luck when it comes to making money from my cards. The other day my OH's aunt rang up and asked how much I would charge to make 120 birthday party invites, for her 40th party. I told her that it would be much cheaper to buy them, as even without me making a profit on them it would cost a lot. I mean I can understand people paying a lot for wedding invites, but not invites for your own party. Was I stupid to turn down my first commision?

Melissa, you shouldn't have turned her down! You should have costed it and then let her decide. If you also did the inserts with all the details and your aunt didn't have to do anything but stamp the envelopes, it would be worth it for her. Would save her having to write them all out.
I charged £1.50 per card I think, might have been £1.25 not sure, it was a while ago. I was in profit but time wise, you don't often get your money's worth unless you do simple cards. Once you have decided on your design and the insert, you know what to buy then and how to put it together and it goes quite fast. And you can do it quite cheap depending what you put on the front of the card. Yes, ok she could buy an invite pad for cheap and then write it in herself but it doesn't compare to a beautiful handmade invitation does it? Even if it is a simple design, the insert inside would make it more classy.

Mumoftwo, maybe I was a bit hasty! The trouble is not having a printer, I am a bit limited when it comes to personalising things! I always get a bit nervous when people ask me to do things in case they don't like it!
