You'll know Horncastle well then shaz........mostly antique shops but we've got a craft shop as well -not that cheap though. Nice little town .......well we think so anyway though kids always think its a bit boring.
Ex foster girl seems ok, she was going out for an indian meal last night. Insurance chaps coming this afternoon and she's been sorted out with clothes from our next door neighbour (same age and once was same size)
They've got electricity in th extension of the house now so at least thats safe and they can plug in microwave and kettle. She's a good coper -better than me - so she'll be fine I'm sure.

I've sent my tissue cards off today (such as they are)
Thanks for the tip qwiksave but a bit late for me now. Never thought to scroll back and try and find examples..............lol typical. Oh well, whats next weeks ?

My internet seems to be working today and secure.

Lovely cards, tissue this week, isn't it? thanks Polly for posting your birthday card. The purple squares were just cardstock with foampads behind it. The colour of the photo is a bit dull, the brads look green but are really purple.

Iris folding is agreeing with you Polly and Shaz, your tissue card is freestyle iris folding and really effective. I have done iris folding for Christmas cards and loved it for ages, but am a bit fed up with it now.

My mother has been an absolute diamond and bought me a cuttlebug!! Haven't much time to play with it yet, and haven't got many diecutters yet.

Working seriously interferes with my creative life!!

Mary, how awful about the fire, but at least everyone is safe.

better go and do some housework, yuck

Oh cool, maybe you can give me some hints then.. I have one paisley embossing folder that my mum included, it is nice and very swirly, I stuck some white card in between it, but it looks so plain that way. What do you use? Coloured card? Or do you colour your embossed article with chalk or something? I did try with paper but it tore a bit. Only tried a few bits and need to spend money to buy more.. There is so much out there, what to get first? I would love an alphabet but they are so expensive:eek:

I have done my tissue card, tried to weave strips together but lost the will to live with that, so scrunched it up and came up with this: scrunched little bits as a border with heart brads in the corners, 2 bits of tissue paper in the middle, peel off sticker on acetate, filled in with micro beads and pearly stuff for the petals.

    well I have started:rotfl:

I bought let's make cards and from that I made the butterfly card for my Dad's birthday (not all that masculine but that was the least feminine - this issue was all wedding, anniversary and baby:D ).

then I made the dinosaur card using old wrapping paper for ds2 friend (age 8). I am quite pleased with them for my first attempt although there is room for improvement:rotfl:

just one question: do you think 2 layers is enough for the dinosaurs or should I add a third?

Well done bunbun2 - these will be your first cards of many!!! Watch out bank balance !!!

Wrapping paper can be fab for cards, as designs are usually printed lots of times you can use the images for decoupage and 'build up' parts of the picture using 3D foam pads. I love both cards as they are :D

Great first attempt bunbun2. My favourite is the butterfly card, the colours are really pretty. Great initiative using wrapping paper, I have never thought of doing that.

Lovely cards bunbun2, I would add another layer and since wrapping paper is quite flimsy, you could glue it onto some heavier card first, then cut out and then stick it on the card with foampads, the dinosaurs are really cute and I love the colours of the butterfly card and the background paper, you did very well. Now you have started... You will be having lots of ideas and want to make cards all the time..

Do you mind if I join you all?

I have been lurking for a while :) but haven't dared to join in. I have been making cards for a good few years now on and of, but haven't made any for ages, so really need to get motivated

    Thanks
