Okay first, ILC I am so glad that you managed to post your cards - they are all really pretty - very girly!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
Polly, belated birthday wishes for yesterday, I am typing this quietly in honour of your hangover!!!!
Bunbun - thanks for your kind comments. I think card making can be done cheaply, or it can be expensive!!!! Its hard to know what you need to start off. I got a kit from the argos when I started and I just went from there. Get yourself some cheap card in various colours, envelopes, some adhesive - I use double sided tape, maybe some peel offs. You don't need much to start off and you just keep adding to it as you go.
Craft granny - I left it too late to order from jillcrafts - everything I wanted was gone. I am quite pleased really because I would have spent loads, I'm glad you got some bargains though!!!0 -

Glad you are feeling better. What i meant was, there was some decopauge sheets on the cardmakingandpapercraft website, but they have been removed to make space for new ones.
Thanks everyone for liking my cards! I too think Lets Make Cards is really good for card craft beginners. Like Polly said, there is something for everyone in there as well as a fab mag to show you easy cards to make with your kit. For 7.99, i think it's a bargain!

thanks to everyone for your advice. I am going to have a go at card making just need to decide what to buy to start me off :rotfl: I think father's day may be my first project.
rainmac - I like the look of the docrafts website - lots of ideas on there and they show you the finished card.
I think I am nervous of putting colours together in case they don't go and like everything when you first start thinking of ideas is daunting.
I think what shocks me most (and probably my family:D ) is that i am becoming arty and creative :rotfl: when it becomes addictive I shall blame you lot :rotfl:saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Chickadee - the card is great. I too had a go at tea-bag folding once but it didn't look right, so I am very impressed with yours!!! It looks expensive too!!0

Hi this is my card for this weeks challenge ive used a iris pattern from a link on this thread it was really easy to follow and i really enjoyed doing it to finish off the butterfly i used stick on gems and down the side of the card ive used a peel off border and coloured it purple and did the same with the flower in the bottom corner of the card.0

Wow everyone...
Polly ~ Glad to see you enjoyed your birthday and your head doesnt hurt too much. That butterfly card is truely amazing, I have tried iris folding but never got along with it  I love it when I see cards made with that tecnique
ILC ~ Fantastic to see you here, I love those cards, especially the lady in the rain. Very nice. I have never brought lets make cards because I dont buy many main/expensive magazines at all. I tend to get mine secondhand as the cards are still 'fresh' as long as you put your own twist on it.
Shaz ~ I love the do crafts mag, especially when you find something some what of a bargain. Great its only £1 too.
melissa & mary ~hello
Chickadee ~ love that tea folding, another thing I tryed but cant do. All of you are very amazing. I love the freshness and simpleness of that card yet the depth is great.
Bunbun ~ Do join in, you will soon learn what works and what doesnt. Its a case of going for it and then if it looks wrong move it arround/change the papers. Also I dont glue mine down till the last minute then I know I am happy about it
I may try my card tommorow, I have found some scraps of tissue paper and I have an idea... so tomorow I shall attempt it :j0 -
