Yes, er, well, it only costs "over £2 for 2 litres" if you pay the full price of £1.69 a bottle. (Actually at £1.69 it's over £2.97 per litre  )
So, yes, it does cost over £2 for 2 litres!!
And yes, I bought one because I can use (hopefully, because our tesco are a bit funny about taking magazine coupons) the coupon tomorrow before it expires, therefore making the cider free and a little profit.
My point was, if you cannot use the coupon, cider can be obtained far more cheaply than buying the star for the sole purpose. Just a money saving tip, which is what we're all about! You seem to jump on me lately quoia. You virtually accused me last week of selling things on e bay when I dont even have an account, yet when I explained, did not even have the grace to apologise or press the thanks button, yet i have spoken up for you plenty of timesI can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. by the way at £1.69 a bottle, it would cost over £6.50 for 2 litres!!!I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0

The Sainsbury bag for life in yesterdays Daily Mail (Saturday) works on a Tesco bag for life, I went to customer services and asked (I did not want coupon police moaning at me) she said I could not use as it was for a sainsburys product and would not scan, I replied I thought it would she tried and it DID so 3 free bags for life.

No it wouldn't, as I said in my previous post
No, I was going on the concept of 4 bottles is just over 2 litres, (as there is 500ml plus a little bit more in each bottle, and 500ml is half a litre) so to get 4 bottles I'd need to buy 4 daily stars which at 55p each would cost me £2.20 for just over 2 litres!!!!
So, yes, it does cost over £2 for 2 litres!!
No it doesn't. Your "concept" is rather inaccurate. In your "there is 500ml plus a little bit more", the bit more is 13.6% - almost a seventh more.
If the bottle was 550ml for 55p then that would be exactly £1 per litre, however at the actual 568ml it is under 97p a litre - 2 litres would be £1.94.
However because the coupon was worth £1.69, and Sainsburys were selling the cider at £1.50 (providing you got them in multiples of 2) there was a further discount of 19p per bottle/Star - making the Star only 36p (not 55p)
At 36p a bottle it works out at just over 63p a litre - marginally more than the £1.20 for 2L "value" stuff from Tesco.
At full price of £1.69 - it is £2.97 a litre - get 2 for £5.95 (not over £6.50)
Regards the "ebay issue" it was you that said MSE was about "MAKING as much money as possible" and I said it was "SAVING" - and those (often proudly) that made the same "making" statements usually tried to buy misprices in quantity just to sell on ebay which was frowned upon on MSE. I THEN went on to say that I hoped you WEREN'T one of these and your statement DID NOT mean that.

sorry quoia but I dont have time to work out exact measures to the nearest 0000.1%. However, in my (humble) opinion, it wasn't worth buying the star for the cider alone, as even for 3 bottles that would be 1.65 for 3 x568ml which is just under one and three quarter litres (I do these things quickly, mentally in my head and round up to nearest whatever, dont have time for exact), a lot dearer than £1.20 for 2 litres. And it may be tesco value, but it must be decnt as my hubby wont normally touch cheapo drinks! (Don't drink much myself, and not cider ever)
I was merely offering some advice, as sometimes unless you are someone who actually prefers to buy and drink/eat/use the particular product on offer, it isnt worth buying the paper for.
regarding the other. I know what you said. You had no reason to say it. You insinuated I was doing something underhand, without any reason for doing so, just because I said this forum was about making money with a slip of the tongue (or the keypad) That said, if I give in £10 of coupons a week, i have made £10. However your post could have had people thinking bad of me.
I told you that was definitely not the case, and whilst you can always reply to people about posts you disagree with (like your last post) you did not reply and apologise. Nor did you even click my thanks button. yet I have defended you in previous posts. There were a couple of posts further back in my MSE life where you had a little go at me too. I do my best to be honest and helpful on here and I expect the same treatment back. Sometimes we err, but there is no need for rudeness or wild accusations. Sorry, I hate to be negative on this forum, but I had to say it.
Hope everyone has had a lovely mothers dayI can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
