PCN for box Junction
Options
I recieved a PCn for box junction in lewisham way/ parkfield road. the photos are very poor and the box itself is faded. Also its not clear whether my rear tyres were in the box , because one of the poictures shos the car in the box , the other nothing but i suppose rear tryes in the box but not clear because the paiting is fading . I need to appeal but do not know where to start. HELPPPPPP!!!!

So the first picture shows you in the box? The second moving out of the box? The photos are taken with time lapse which shows that you had stopped?
Pay the fine and realise it's people who do this that cause congestion. It boils my p**s when people enter the box and just sit and wait and then the lights change and they are stuck waiting blocking traffic.0 -
Seconded. It's a FPN with no points.0

I agree if you were in the box pay the fine.....I am another who gets SO ANNOYED when people block junctions.0

Remember though yellow box markings are only legal within a traffic light junction, so if the box is not within vicinity of traffic lights its not legal.0

Reading the original post, perhaps there's a case? If there's two photographs, and the car is in different positions in both, surely that's evidence that the car hasn't stopped, or am I missing something here?
If you had stopped in the box, then pay up. Like others, it really is quite irritating when people do that.0 -
You should only enter a box junction if you are turning right - if you are going straight on then you shouldn't enter the box and sit there blocking the traffic. If you feel that the PCN is unjustified then appeal it but it sounds like a fair cop to me. I drive around London all the time and I manage to avoid being trapped at box junctions - guess I take a bit more notice of my surroundings, cab drivers are the worst because they will try and force you to stop in the box junction so it pays to keep well back from them.0

Almost correct, you should still not enter a box junction if your way to the right is not clear.

If you did not stop, and the photos do not prove you stopped then you can appeal. They have to show you stopped that means 2 photos with the car in the same position over a period of time.
I suppose you could write back and ask them to supply photos which prove an offence was committed.
Also you could look into the box placement and dimensions, if it isn't correct, they can't enforce it. I think it was Peter999 who went on about all this a while back.0
