  • I quit the first time round because I had a really awful manager who was totally unsupportive and took all the fun out of it. However now I got a great manager and I love it!! Dancing Butterfly, Don't worry about driving, I don't drive yet but my raffle covers travel expenses. If you want any more info just PM me

I've been doing Ann Summers for a few months now and I don't pay NI or tax at the moment as a party organiser, I'm not earning enough to justify it. However I am being promoted to UO soon and then I will register as self employed as the earning potential is a lot more. If you want it as a career option then self employment is probably the best bet but if it for just a bit of extra cash I wouldn't bother. If you need anymore info just PM me - it is great fun! :j

Just seen this post - you should be paying over tax/NI on all earnings. I strongly advise you to register with HMRC as soon as possible as there are penalties for not registering within a certain time. If you think that they couldn't catch you then there are all the records at Ann Summers HO end. Even if you don't earn enough to pay any tax you should still be registered/keep appropriate records/complete tax returns.

  • chillin_nutta your mad mate, this persons having a naf time, they have just had to quit, and it the next line down you ask how to join.... am i missing something.
  • No criteria except being female and over the age of 18, no interviews or anything. The pay varies because it is comission based but I make about £50.00 a party - not bad for waving a few naughty things around for two hours ;) if you want anymore info just PM me

Just so I know im hearing this right,

first you need to be a woman... surely thats illegal to demand.

£50 for 2 Hours... and its not just 2 hours you got to get all the people to come to said party, which will add to the time.

As a business £25 per hours really isn't that much.

    AS sounds a bit pants

  • Firstly I was not registered at the time as you do not have to be registered for the first 3 months and I am now registered as self employed. Do appreciate the post though as some people may not realise. You do not get the people to come to the party, the hostess does that. That is an average of £50.00 profit per party, which if you are doing it just to make a bit of extra cash (as I am) is not bad at all. And you will have to take it up with Ann Summers about the women only thing!:D

  • ive been emailed a load of info from the woman who did the last party i went to and it looks really good! a lot better earnings potential than Avon which i used to do.

but ive got a 3 year old and ive just started doing 32 hours at my daytime job which seemed a good idea at the time but i miss my little man! so this would be ideal as i can do it when hes in bed!:p

plus i had SUCH a laugh when i went to one! i was nearly crying!:rotfl:

Lady_Lazerus thanks for your offer of help! :T the only thing thats holding me back is my lack of car! but you seem to get on alright with it! may i be a little cheeky and ask how you first get parties?!:o

    thankyou!

I've been looking into being a party planner as a bit of extra money in the evenings/weekend (I work full time during the day). It's come down to Ann Summers or Body Shop but I have to pay up front for Body Shop and I'm not too keen to do that.

I can't seem to find out how I can join Ann Summers or even find out more information about it? There doesn't seem to be anything on the website? How do I go about finding out more about it and joining?
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.
  • Hi,

As someone who has done both Ann Summers and The Body Shop (still doing) I have to say that the earning potential with the Body Shop is more. I really struggled to get parties with Ann Summers and no there is no start up fee but you have to rent your kit off them and it's not yours to keep if you leave while it is with the Body shop. At this time of year you can make your money back in one party with the BS. It's easier to sell then the AS products as theirs something for everyone and you can promote it everywhere, you can't exactly advertise AS at your local playgroup etc.
