hi came across this thread and thought i would add to it. after my car broke 3 weeks ago and we are VERY skint at the moment so i find meal planning really helps. previosly i used to go shopping once a week for a big shop and then i would "nip out" everyday nearly to get essential items! anyway i used asda delivery this week so i saved money cos i got all the multibuys and special offers, and also didnt buy any impulse buys... however i missed any whoops. looking at everyone elses gives me inspiration.
anyway here is my meal plans for this week-
fri: chicken stir-fry, with left over veg. served with noodles
sat: pizza (3 for £3 at asda) and home made chips
sun: chicken fajitas (with lettuce, cheese, chili)
mon: full english breakfast
tues: steak pie, mash, peas and gravy
wed: sausage casserole or sausage mash and beans
thurs: prawns in garlic butter with riceCompers challenge 2024 wins!!!!.... Oct £60... £10 free spins, £50 palm, m&m pouch0 -
Evening all ... March already, faintly ridiculous I feel.
Right, menu plan at the ready ....
Fri - fishfingers with mushroom sauce and HM wedges, peas, sweetcorn and beans (DH's creation)
Sat - HM beefburgers in bought rolls, with fried mushrooms (DD and I), melted mozzarella (DH and I) and ketchup (DH made burgers).
Sun - Roast Chicken with all the trimmings (DH cooking again .... he doesn't normally do so much, too busy doing DIY, so makes a nice change!) .. he's also muttered something about bacon and egg butties for brunch !! My waistline, my waistline!
Mon - Pasta with chicken, mushrooms in a tomatoey sauce (can you tell the size of the box of mushrooms I bought last Wed .... DH and DD are getting bored of mushrooms, LOL)
Tues - If any chicken left ... chicken and leek (or mushroom!) pie, if none left, then a HM quiche of some variety ... involving, you guessed it .... mushrooms!
Wed - Chilli (HM and in the freezer) with rice
Thurs - Leek, potato and bacon gratin with carrots and broccoli
Frid - takeout of some variety.
For lunches I'm proposing to make up a batch of pasta salad and rice salad.
Also, to do something with is a gammon joint .... in the pretense of providing us with ham instead of buying it!!!
In addition, need to look up some diabetic recipes for my g-uncle who's currently in hospital and needs feeding up a little.GC - March 2024 -0 -
