Oh dear! Yesterday was an expensive afternoon! Costco followed by ASDA,got lots of supplies for celebration cakes. Prepared to take this out of 'normal' money, but would rather I tried to get at least some of it out of the food purse. It's a 10" fruit cake and a 9" fruit cake so quite an expense. Out of interest I will work out the final cost, just so that I know, It's such a long time since I did one for anyone else I'm out of touch with pricing.
Modifications below, because of joining the March Storecupboard Challenge.
Friday: Burger (F), pork or vegi, plus trimmings. Need to experiment with bread rolls again.
Saturday: Quiche (F) have some in freezer, but not enough for DD's BF (big eater, though 6'2" and skinny!) so have stuff in and will make a fresh one. Didn't have time, so got the ones out of the freezer and have got a few stray slices of nut loaf out as well.
Sun: Roast Pork etc WIll use what veg we have rather than getting fresh on Sunday
Mon: Cold Pork, Bubble and Squeak B&S is in the freezer, so will concentrate on not overcatering on veg on SUnday for this
Tues: Sausages and beans, hoping to get round to trying to do hm saus an dhm beans. Don't hold your breath though! Got stuff for HM beans, but not Saus, so saus will have to wait till another day
Wed: Pasta Bake? sounds like a good one for no spend
Thurs: Veg curry (F)and spicy rice ditto
Friday: Soup and Pud Think I can scavenge all I need from freezer. Feel a jam roly poly coming on. Have lots of Victoria plum jam in the house. MIL said yesterday if i needed jam just to ask if I could take a look in her cupboard. She likes making it but doesn't eat much herself
Saturday: Mince (F)& gravy, Veg and mash Think I can scavenge all I need from freezer

You can probably guess that FP are the grownups & OJ are the children! Unless stated otherwise we all eat the same (or try to), but they don't like spicy food (yet).

that's a good idea Kune. Perhaps I should try and plan everything from what's in the Freezer, then I might have a chance at defrosting it!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
