Hi all, have been organised and meal planned the whole month
Found a way to make it much easier - I wrote down all the meals I usually make, a few that I wanted to try. Grouped them into Fish, Mince, Chicken, Lunches etc and then meal planned by picking things off the list to try and vary it all. Worked out quite well for me
Fri: Turkey Curry (from freezer)
Sat: Meatballs and rice
Sun: Omelete
Mon: Mackerel
Tue: Sweet/sour turkey
Wed: Chilli wraps
Thur: Bacon & egg sarnies(OH's request)

Sat 01 Mar - HM Tortilla Wrap & Chilli(From Freezer) This is gonna be my first attempt at making tortillas so fingers crossed!
Sun 02 Mar - Lamb Casserole (make extra for freezer)
Mon 03 Mar - Egg, Chips & Beans
Tue 04 Mar - Chicken Curry & Naan
Have a good week everyone!
Nikki

Everything homemade (unless otherwise noted) and vegan! :A
Friday
Pizza with roasted peppers & mushrooms
(Pizza crust premade in freezer)
Salad
Saturday
Falafels in pita with salad & tahini sauce
(Will make extra falafels for freezer)
Sunday
Spanokopita
Greek potatoes
Greek salad
Monday
Enchiladas
Salad
Tuesday
Veggie burgers on homemade buns
Homemade oven chips
Cole slaw
Wednesday
Tofu quiche
Salad
Thursday
TBD
As for last week... didn't stick very closely to the mealplan I'm afraid:
Friday
Pizza YES
Saturday
Falafels in pita with salad & tahini sauce NO, forgot to soak chickpeas & didn't have tahini. Had Sunday's meal instead.
Sunday
Yam rolls, fried noodles, veggie stir-fry, ma po tofu YES, but on Saturday. Had super-easy tea of veggie weiners & beans on toast with salad.
Monday
Tortilla beany bake NO, because my usual method of thermos-cooking beans didn't work so well with the flageolet beans, and they were still too hard and not ready in time for using. However, used some of the other ingredients (spinach, pasta sauce, vegan sour cream) to make a really nice pasta dish.
Tuesday
Veggie burgers on homemade buns NO, because had flageolet beans to use up from Monday. Had a bean & veg sausage hot pot with some garlic broccoli which was nice.
Wednesday
Potato kibbi NO, was in the mood for something spicy instead, so had tofu & vegetable Thai curry with steamed quinoa. YUM.
Thursday
Indian wraps NO, did the spicy thing yesterday, will probably have veggie chicken nuggets with homemade oven chips and something with courgettes instead, because I REALLY want chips tonight. Lots of chips.
:AI want to move to theory. Everything works in theory.0 -

Sun: olives and antipasti, spaghetti Bolognese (frozen)
Mon: pate and crusty rolls, chicken livers and spinach
Tue: smoked salmon and spinach salad, lamb chops w leek and potato gratin
Wed: crudites and HM cheese dip, HM burgers and cauli/broc cheese
Thu: devilled eggs, mediterranean cod w cabbage and boiled new potatosCogito, ergo sum.0 -

I can make beef stew using braising beef, but don't the equivalent for lamb.
It has to really simply labelled in Tescos for me! Oops.
I'm on a mission this week to use my slow cooker more, only ever cook rolled brisket of beef in it, tut tut.
Hiya!
I buy diced stewing lamb (no bone) from either the butcher or Tescos. It works to about £2.50 for 500g which is sufficient for 5 portions. I fry an onion then the lamb for 5 mins then pad out with:
carrots
swede
tin of baked beans
frozen peas
add a cassarole mix for 20p from Lidls or when on BOGOF
then bung in SC for 5-6 hrs then add the dumplings for another half hour.

its one of the only ways to be sure of getting five a day into my spoilt husband - I cant eat five portions of processed peas a month let alone a day! and thats all he actually likes
hMMMM Processed peas aren't my fave either!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
