  • afternoon everyone,

i must have missed the meatballs recipe, sounds good, MRSMC seen your ingredients above, how do you cook them, fried , oven , in a gravy ? can you do it with pork mince, had several kilos given to me and its stood in the freezer waiting for a recipe to come along.

not spent anything today but almost out of milk, cheese etc, my fridge looks like mother hubbards cupboard at the moment! Think my visit to aldi tomorrow may be expensive.

    Hi findingmyfeet

Yep...doing them with pork mince will be fine..

When i do the to go in tortillas, i put sliced onions n frozzen peppers in a cast iron dish with a drop of oil and put it in the oven so they go all sticky n sweet...towards the end i drop the meatballs on top and put back in the oven-just turning them over half way through

Tonight i will be frying onion, peppers and mushrooms (see a pattern forming :p )i keep frozen peppers n mushrooms for this sort of thing)....fry in a tiny drop of oil, then adding the meatballs to brown (fish then out and put on a plate) add some tiny floretts of broccoli (i just put them in a bowl and pour boiling water over to part cook it;)then drain ) some passata..a dollop of cream cheese -to make the tomato sauce less acidic, throw in some salt n pepper oh and a handfull of frozen peas and then drop the meatballs back in and cook for about 1o mins to cook through..they are going on pasta tonight..that has no name as i think i have invented my own shapes :rotfl:

Patent girl...don't worry i don't usually measure either.. its this thread thats doing it... i go into the kitchen and find myself thinking "well i can't share the recipes if i don't know how much i use :p "... im normally a throw it in kinda girl

  • thanks for that Mrs M, they sound really yummy cant wait to try it. meat out and defrosting , try that tomorrow. love the caramalised onions too love onion anything, could live off them.

I'm sure my lot are eating more, i have been cooking and baking all week but all the time theres nothing left. Still it must be tasting ok or they would be moaning.

mama67 you have my total admiration, i couldnt possibly go in a shop and spend so little... I hope I can quickly learn the discipline extremely quickly...got lots to save up for. the least i spend is on the weekend newspaper but even then the temptation gremlins seem to take a grip and i come out of the shop a couple of quid lighter!! living in awe.

Howdy folks! Just been to Mr T for the first big shop of the month.
Didn't mean to spend £70 but I'd timed it right for the reductions so there's some extra grub in the freezer for week 4! :money:
