Jayjay14 thanks for that, I have looked in Tesco and couldn't find it, not on our online ordering thingamy either, I'll have another look or ask at customer service when I am next in (I haven't been to Tesco for AGES! Must be about 4 weeks now) I paid £2.99 for a 200g bag I think it was in Sainsburys EEK!

Instead of saving on groceries then waiting until the end of the month paying what I can I have paid them already, so it's a case of having to try harder!
One day I might be more organised...........

Took DD2 this evening to MrTs to get the poor impoverised student some groceries (I'm running two households here!). I spent £5.58 out of my GC budget on a few bits and bobs - got some plain flour, 36p in there but 48p in Asda. Must keep up the stocks for the Hob Nobs!!

Must get the chicken out of the freezer tonight - trying my hand at HM chicken kievs tomorrow, haven't made them for years. This OS mindset is having quite and affect on me.

Edit- lil-me I'ts Natco brand and I saw it tonight and it is now 96p!! bar code no 5 013531 212939

Hope this helps - I use corn meal to make cornbread and muffins.

Ok an update from me. The meal on Tuesday didn't go to plan. DH didn't want gammon so he did fish fingers, eggs, chips and sweetcorn? Then last night all he had to do was get out the fish pie and shove it in the oven but he cooked even more veg and bought hollandaise sauce and did more fish. So he ate 2 meals last night on one plate. I was most offended, I think that's rude really. If he'd wanted it that badly then he could have just done fish and sauce and left the pie for tomorrow.
Oh well- he's going to have to have some vegetarian nights now!
He's also been to Asda again today and spent £17 on I don't know what. Signature has been updated!

Morning All. Kaz I know how you feel. I don't ask DH to buy anything now as I know he will spend far too much on way too little.

Had a NSD yesterday which is good but I know that I need a couple of thing. Don't need milk as I have just watered it down. Normally I buy full fat milk for DS and DD but they have so much of it it costs me a fortune. They are eating breakfast at the moment and neither seem to mind. Didn't put too much in, though.

have to say i don't think my DH would entertain the idea of a vegetarian night he is a strictly meat and no veg kind of a guy!

  • To water down our milk I add about two mugfulls of water to a four pint carton. We still buy blue and green milk though or they would probably notice. It's amazing how much farther it stretches, and they get loads of milk products between milk on thier cereal, yougarts and cheese so it won't do them any harm (may help the size of my btm though!:o )
    Grippy is my middle name!
