Good morning everyone, a quick update....
Spent £4.85 in Wilkos yesterday - got batteries, bulbs, razors and 2 pks of seed potatoes!! I'm going to have a go at growing my own even tho I only have a tiny yard, lol. I have a chimney pot (as I've just had my chimney stack taken down before it fell off!!) so thought I might try and grow some in there and also a couple of extra big plant pots. Has anyone else grown potatoes in a chmney pot, what d'ya think??

Off to wake the brood now, may be back this eve if I can get on the PC, lol.

I assumed, you live on camp.... Maybe there is a asian shop nearer where you live. This is the only other one I have found. But I think, it is further away from you.

DS1 and I made a Banana loaf this morning. Only half is left now. It goes down well with both little ones. DS2 (8mth) seem to have a go at anything and everything.....

Tonight is leftover night. We will be in late, and I just have to heat it all up, yeah!!!!!!!!

I already have done my shopping list for tomorrow. To do some top up. Hopefully it will be not more then £20. All depence, what Lidl has on offer.....

  • good morning my dears, it's been a while!

i'm still on the wagon more or less, but been really busy with the new job so not been online. we scraped in more or less on the nose for february, and are going for £160 again this month, as it's a 4 weeker for me paywise.

new office is further from the shops, which is good, tho i need to concentrate harder on getting the right food brought in so i don't end up still going out. i'm optimistic for this month tho, there's loads in the freezer for a start.

hope you are all well, can't read back as i'm in the office, but carry on comrades :D

    love lots

  • morning one and all

the bees- hope the tooth feeling better, my dad always has a tot of whiskey or brandy for that and swears by it, but never tried it myself.

Well just dared to do my set of adding up of the receipts since 25/02/08 my start date ...not as bad as I had imagined it might be. £139.16 spent so far and that included easter eggs for the littleluns. Only got fruit/veg and milk to get at aldis later in the week and a few toiletries. so things going ok at the
moment. not got to let temptation creep up on me.

ran out of time yesterday bread rolls didnt get done but twinks hobnobs did and threw in left over nuts and half a dozen lurking cherries left over from xmas. They are lovely, amazing how quickly the hm goodies are disappearing....they barely get time to cool in this house before someone is stalking them!!! see i'm going to have to do them when everyone is out and get some in the freezer.

    Hya folks

Felt I must post more regularly, perhaps it will help me to keep within budget!

Planning a NSD today, got loads of College work to do...only 4 weeks before the course is finished...help! Microteach next week, I'm getting everyone to sow tomato seeds (left over from last year...they stay viable for years!). Making my own paper pots (origami-style) and plant labels form old marg tubs. Only expense is seed compost and mixing that with multipurpose to make it go further.

Only odds 'n' sods buying yesterday. Peppers and cucumber for fajitas and guacamole (avocados whoopsed last week..5 for 45p!); three cartons of OJ on offer at Co-op as well as TV guide (TV Choice @ 38p), all coming to £4.44. Have updated sig below.

Total still not great, but hopefully we will be closer to the target of £400 this month. I still don't know some of you manage to keep your bills so low. I am following loads of the brilliants ideas mentioned here and elsewhere eg: cooking and baking from scratch most of the time; shopping @ Lidl and Aldi when I can and checking out whoopsies everywhere; using half the washing powder/liquid along with some washing soda, and vinegar for fabric softener...no-one has complained yet!

I don't suppose it helps having two 6 foot tall bottomless pits for sons! Oh well, I can but try, and see if I can bring the bills down a bit very month. I am well stocked up with Wash 'n' go shampoo and Sanex bodywash (both on bogoff the past few weeks), as we go through a fair bit with showers everyday. Perhaps if I can persuade DS2 to let me cut his curly locks off (a number 4
perhaps?) he will use less shampoo!

Must dash, having gammon for tea (Lidl), we will have the left-overs in quiche/souflle on Friday....HM pizza tomorrow....see I use left-overs too!

Spent €4.85 this morning, on dried yeast, baking powder ( panic when none in house) and fresh ginger...definitely going to grow some in a pot this year.

Above brings my total spend so far to €92.87, will need fruit, milk and maybe some veg to-morrow, but fairly ok for everything else I think
