Trying for £160 again for the two of us - got to make it eventually! :D

Spent £35 in aldis today, but £20 of that was on the luscious cast iron casserole dish (orange), so won't include that in my totals. Got stuff which was meant for next weeks budget really but as i was there thought I would sling them in my trolley as the dates are long (cheap parmesan etc).

Well last month was a bit of a disaster but will try again this month. OH has been ill and does not get paid for time off sick so we will be a bit short this month. Please put me down for £150 for me, OH and two pet rats. I've made loads of meat pies for OH and still have lots of things to bake so hopefully this will cut down the spend a bit.
    January spend = £100

I am so impressed with you all - what determination! I'm hoping to join this for April, as my goal for March is to record everything I spend - so I can set a realistic challenge next month. I will watch (and learn) with great interest.

    Hi

im inagain, but instead of having just my `shopping purse` this month I have done a monthly meal plan- 1 meal for all!!! help, so I have done an order for Mr T`s for a months shopping which should come in around £75 coming on monday.

So today instead of drawing out my £40 cash for shopping, I have only taken £20 and will do the same for next 3 weeks, should then have money-in offsett account paying mortgage at mo- to pay credit card.

The £20 will cover milk and any fresh veg, school dinners and maybe fish and chips!!

Never tried a monthy shop or meal plan before, but hope it will give me more time and save me money.
  • Thanks Mrs M - can you put me down for £175 again this month please!

Was rubbish at updating the thread last month - but came in a £150, so £25 under, which has gone in the Christmas pot ;)

I'll run from 23rd February to 22nd March - so Easter will have to come out of this month's budget. A large shop at the Farm bought all our meat for the month, and a week's worth of fruit and veg. Storecupboard is still well stocked and so is the freezer.

    Good luck everyone :D

I've got my first shop for March tonight - www.mysupermarket.com calculates it at £25.29 so far though I may pick up a few bargains for my nice new Freecycle freezer! Does anyone know any good places for supermarket vouchers? Product specific or not?

    Thanks, Catt xx

Must do better this month

Last month was a disaster, I wanted to do £170 but stopped counting when I passed £200 in week 3

This month I'm desperate, I've been paid but OH will only get 2 weeks pay and is currently driving about 80-100miles a day so it's costing us a fortune in petrol.
Soooooooo I need to cut the shopping down to £150. I'm going to have a 'freezer and cupboard' week this week so should only need milk and a few bits.
