  • Hi everyone. This is my first post on the site and i'd love to join in the challenge (albeit a few days in!!) I've spent nothing so far on groceries (living on storecupboard). Since it's just me i'm going to go for £80 for a long month.

Right I know this question isnt really GC stuff, well, in a way it is, cos ive done the Home Baking to try to save money.

Anyway, ive baked a Bakewell Tart, Gingerbread, Flapjacks, and Twinks hob nobs today. Can I freeze these. I have to do something to try to bring down my grocery budget where sweet stuff is concerned especially for the kids.

    Jackie xx

I made some twinks hob nobs but mine are a bit dry dunno why...im sat eating one now lol..id also love to know the answer to if you can freeze them or not

Going to Mr T's tonight and shop for the rest of the month (until 25th March which is payday) so hoping to spend approx £150 which will bring me in under what i've allowed for the month, but with a little spare for anything I forget ! Don't usually do more than a weeks shopping at a time but i've got a double points voucher that I need to use up :0)

I've not frozen the biscuits after baking them, but i've frozen the mix and it works - still produces lovely hobnobs. I divide the mix into individual biscuit "balls" then open freeze on a tray and pop them all into a freezer bag when they've gone hard.

I've spent £3.00 today at work. i swore I wasn't going to do this but I did buy two packs of 10 cuppers of bovril and hot chocolate from the pound shop. The stuff from the m/c is 30p a cup so I'm still saving a bit. I'm doing a mystery shop in a restaurant when I come back from Lanzarote, so that will cover the pound I spent on a cheese and onion roll today. Lord, I can talk myself round to looking saintly.
Everybody keeps coming and eating my food, it,s not fair.

    Hi all,

Spent €4 to-day on 2 large bottles of F***y Liquid...OH swears that nothing else works although I had been happy enough with the Lidl one.

    Good luck to all
