So, my first shop of the month, on Friday, at Asda came to £81.49, but I'm deducting £4.99 which was DH's magazine. So £76.50 spent so far in March. He was gobsmacked (he was paying) but £6.36 of that was fresh pizzas which were his idea! However, I have sworn to him that he never has to go to Asda again, as I will be getting it delivered from now on. I'm going to have a go at home-made pizzas soon as well.
This shop should take us through to the 15th, with the occasional top-up of milk etc.
And back to the magazine, he is going to subscribe to it, as he does buy it every month, and this month's subscription offer is a free Wii game, so can't complain.

Hello 'oldies' and welcome 'newbies', hope everyone is fine and dandy. My shopping strategy has changed this month - I have a meal plan and went out today for the entire month's shopping. As it was Mother's Day, I opted for a trip away for the day - to the new Mr T store about 40 miles away! :rotfl: The superspend came to a whopping great £75.24 in total (including popping into Mr S on way home) and this will, hopefully, do 3 of us for the entire month. What's left (£24.76) should cover the extras needed and the Easter break. Fingers crossed, as that's the plan! Every available space in freezer, fridge and cupboards is packed with food and baking ingredients and, if this works out the way I'm planning, there should be no need for any more supermarket visits other than local Co-op for milk when needed. Updating signature now.

Hope all you mums out there had a good day. :T

Well, done the Bulk of my March shopping and spent £103.00 ish, which leaves me with £27 over the next 3 weeks, not too bad so i have planned meals for all of this month and have made and frozen four out of the next 5 days. All the ingredient needed for the meals is now in my cupboards or frezzer.

    Hi Y'all

Well wotalota posts! I've just got up to page 12. I was out yesterday so could not access the best Forum in the world!

My spend to date is £40, but need to order the next fortnights groceries from Mr T tomorrow. Would really like to keep it around £70, but really have no idea at the moment what it will come. As a matter of interest when I use MySupermarket.com the Tesco order is always cheaper than Asda. Not by much I admit, still "Look after the Pennies and the Pounds will look after themselves"

Thanks for all the recipes, will try them when I get a "Round Tuit"
    Love the FM

Right decided on getting a Bread maker, does anyone suggest which one to go for. I want one that does big ish loaves (6 of us to feed), makes cakes too? and one that i can programme to start a few hrs later (like for early morning fresh bread) I have been told that the panosonic SD-255 is the best to get, but its dear! I don' t mind paying if it will last and is worth it. What does anyone suggest?

    Thanks

Just done my first online shop from MrT  It took ages!!!!!
I had a £10 discount voucher through the door so after using that and paying delivery it was £57.07. If I'd gone to the shop I would have spent more so I'm quite pleased. Other bits and pieces from Iceland and JS bring my total so fat to £78.30.
I'm hoping to come in at £150 so there might be a bit of belt tightening by the end of the month...........

How you decide what your weekly budget is, is up to you, but I feel sure that will not cause an intelligent, down-to-earth, gorgeous person like you any problems :D.
