OH My God = Are tescos supposed to deliver to your fridge?????!!!??????
I've had a bad back for a few weeks (although much better now) so had to get shopping delivered, as hubby2b wouldnt come with me, and the driver watched me struggle take it out of the crates and into the kitchen. HOW RUDE

They are supposed to sweetie! .

It says so, all over the website, on the telly adverts and on the side of some of the vans!

Clearly the drivers haven't noticed though. :D

My elderly Aunt - who's 84 - slips an arm sling over her head before she answers the door to her Tesco delivery - otherwise they stack all the crates up on the door step and grumble if she asks them to help her. (They should be ashamed of themselves, huh?)

    Stand firm honey,

    I'm going to.

As Belfastgirl says we PAY for this "service"!

Love Jacks xxx (with her militant head on) :D

Can I join this challenge this month please, I've no idea how much to budget for so I'll use this month as a test but I don't want to go over £300 cos I don't have anymore to spend than that anyway :rotfl: I will cut back where feasible and see how much I can shave off of this figure. We are a family of 5, me and DH, DD1 is nearly 16yrs so classed as an adult (definately eats like one!) and 2 kids under 6.

Right I'm off to do my first shop of March now and will be really really good :)

Well I went for my second shop of the month yesterday and it was more troublesome than I had predicted. Mainly because I don't have lots of OS basics so I had to buy loaf tins, greaseproof paper and all basic ingredients practically. Then Tesco didn't have any bicarb of soda so I had to buy some from the corner shop which was very expensive (well, 99p). You should have seen me in the baking aisle of Tesco though, grabbing random strangers and asking them about ingredients.

I should have listened to my mum when she first taught me all of this so I wouldn't have to relearn everything. So anyhow, I haven't included the tins and things in my total for this month as I won't need to buy them again. I have included expendables though. But I baked my first item yesterday; a banana loaf to use up ripe bananas. It was very tasty and I'm hoping this is the beginning of lots of homemade and cheap goodies. :D More importantly OH is enthusiastic about it so his snacking obsession hopefully won't be the issue I'd predicted.

shelley don't leave without your list, why not have a look through the meal plans thread or recipes ones to [strike] steal ideas [/strike] inspire you. I usually do that. I'm struggling a little on ours, I did have it planned but then loads of appointments etc have come in over the last 2 days, some things I just had 'chicken' or 'stewing steak' without what to do with it because I was the same, lacking inspiration.

I've spent £8.50 since Monday, I do need some bits and pieces so going to pop to the shop before suprising my Mam at her work with card etc. Doing my list in a mo, when I finish editing the meal plan. Hoping to spend under £20.
One day I might be more organised...........

MRSM you're turning into a tortilla addict!!! :rotfl: Kinda like me, I like corn ones aswell but masa harina can be so expensive locally, might have to order a big bag again from somewhere. A good one with chicken and tortillas is enchilladas, I love them. Fajitas are great, some seasoning, peppers and onions, really nice with sprinkle of cheese, salsa and mayo :D My youngest son will fill tortillas with anything, loves them, cheese, jam and ham together last week, ick!

Something moroccan is what I fancy (plus have couscous to use up) but wondering if moroccan beef will work as well as moroccan lamb because I have no diced lamb left. Chicken (ok I lied it'll be left over Christmas Turkey) curry definately on the menu, still working out way through that stuff which I just keep sneaking into meals :D if I tell DP it's chicken he'll eat it wthout a moan, if he knew it was turkey he'd probably moan.

Just had a quick google and found recipes for moroccan lamb/beef and moroccan beef stew so I think I'll take the chance.

Maismehl is corn flour in German, sometimes the bags will have Harina del Maiz on them instead of Masa Harina in ethnic stores I have found.

I made tortillas using your recipe last night and they were really yummy - much better than shop bought ones. I had them with chilli & cheese and salad; and Ive got another 4 dough balls in the freezer for next time too.
    Thankyou for posting the recipe!:T
