As it is the first of the month, may I join in? Can I be added to this list for £110? Last month I spent £174.45 for two of us... and I'm going to drastically reduce this in March.

I have 2 new rapidly growing rats that need quite a bit more food than the mice I used to have did and have no idea what they cost a month yet :rotfl: .

I've got 3 rats and spend slightly under a tenner a month on food, bedding and a couple of treat sticks.

ETA to be fair the hamster shares the bedding, so its probably nearer £7 a month...

Good evening everyone and Happy Mother's Day to all the mums tomorrow. O haven't spent anything yet but am going to do the main monthly shop tomorrow. Will update my sugnature once I know what damage has been done - I don't often get the chance to visit Tesco, so wish me luck! I promise to restrain myself and I won't forget to use my Clubcard. :)
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

My OH says it's price fixing. I was always lead to believe that Mr S was one of the dearest supermarkets. But I've always shopped there and feel at ease, does that make sense? When we went to Asda it was a strange experience, I put it down to not knowing the aisles and where things were. I hope Mr S forgives my moment of weakness :rotfl: . Actually I don't like Morrisons either, aren't we snobby?! :p
I mentioned this before on the feb GC I put my grocery list into www.mysupermarket.co.uk and Mr S was the cheapest, by easily £5.

What I do now is look to see who has offers on anything we use/need then do the remainder at Sainsburys. Mr S, Mr T and Mr A are all within 10 mins drive of each other so this is quite easy.

I also stop off at Lidl for a couple of things on way home as they have certain things we really like and the others don't compare.

I have in the last week signed up for weekly newsletters for Mr M. Aldi, Netto, and Mr Fields, and I also check online for Co-op deals.

It could work out that over a month I might go to all of the above supermarkets just to get the best deals; but as long as what I save is more than the petrol to run around then it makes sense.
And it should mean eventually I will only be shopping for deals apart from fresh stuff and basics as I will get the cycles and know how much to buy of things.
