Most products im fine with.... an i will be doing a mega stockpile before we move back to the UK on a permenant basis ;) but flour ties me in knots here.... although the 405 is stunning...much better than our plain flour in the UK  ...so i have mastered that one :rotfl:

The sig is that bit underneath the line at the bottom of many posts (mine is multicoloured)

Scroll up to the top of this page, and just above the red 'Start' button is a link called 'User CP' - click on it, choose 'edit signature' from the lefthand menu and away you go.

:)

Thanks earthmother - going to try that.

Hi,
I had my first Tesco delivery yesterday and spent £117.33 out of my £375 budget. I'm still stocking up after being in Aus for 3 months and they have offers on Heinz soup, so I'm stocking up on that.
I prefer to get my shopping delivered on a Tuesday cause its cheaper, but the weekly menu planner on here seems to start later in the week. Also my friend has joined a Slimming World class thats on a Thursday morning and I'm going to join with her....I may just have to have a good think about this!!

Teigwarenmehl is pasta flour . Hartweizen is sometimes mentioned on recipes which means 'hard wheat' Hartweizengriess aswell

You'll know if the 'corn flour' is the right one as it'll usually be yellow.

Hi Mrs M,

In Germany, we usually just use Mehl Typ 550 for making pasta.
Have you actually tried that yet? Yes, it is also used for Making Bread!

OR, some use 2 parts Mehl typ 405 to 1 part Hartweizengries, which seem to make a good mixture. Both are very readily available in all shops.

italienisches Hartweizenmehl (Semola di grano duro) - might be another option, but not cheap. It is also hard to get. More likely to find it in an italien supermarket/ shop.

Hi, this is my first challenge. I usually spend just over £100 when I'm being 'good'....so..I'm gonna go for £95. How much do other people spend when buying for one?

hi meema

i'm on my own except for my little bunny, but he doesnt cost that much and i have budgetted £100 for the last two months, but i still think i can get lower than that, have spent £48 so far this month, but have pretty much everything i need. i have been through my freezer and made up a meal plan, but i am trying to use up everything in my freeezer as it seriously needs defrosting. so might need a bigger budget next month.

i dont buy any ready meals, and have been freezing extra portions, so i sometimes find i'm living on lasagne or spag bol. but i do try and vary it.

my budget includes food, toiletries and cleaning products, but i'm still using up toiletries from xmas presents so again may need re evaluating when i need to add these in.

Hi there
I just wanted to thank you for the recipe for the HM tortilla wraps:beer: . Have just been busy in the kitchen and decided to give them a go. They worked a treat.
OH is going to have some of them for supper with ham and salad when he gets home from work later.

Made a batch of Twicks hobnobs as well. Dont think they will last long when OH sees them. He'll probably say he is wanting to take some to work for his friends to try

Hi again,

I've spent another £2.04 today on milk and custard.

Made HM steak pie for tea today and had pastry left over so made jam tarts that will go into lunch boxes. Also made fruit crumble with 3xover ripe bananas, 2xover ripe pears and 1x cooking apple, never done it with bananas before but turned out ok. We had that for afters with custard. Also made a rice pudding (i love rice pudding:D) so had a good day today. Have done a meal plan for next week and should only have small shop as I have most ingredients.

MON spag bol with garlic bread/cottage pie with peas.
fruit crumble or rice pud for afters

TUES HM burgers on buns with spicy potato wedges and salad
tinned fruit with tinned cream for afters

WED Plaice in breadcrumbs with new pots and veg
HM brownies

THURS Baked spud with tuna or cheese and beans.
jelly

FRI Pitta Pizzas with spicy potato wedges and salad
HM rock buns

SAT Omlette and chips and salad or beans.
not decided on afters yet!!

Just done my first online shop from MrT  It took ages!!!!!
I had a £10 discount voucher through the door so after using that and paying delivery it was £57.07. If I'd gone to the shop I would have spent more so I'm quite pleased. Other bits and pieces from Iceland and JS bring my total so fat to £78.30.
I'm hoping to come in at £150 so there might be a bit of belt tightening by the end of the month...........
Well done! It gets easier because next time you can shop from your 'favourites', but don't forget to go through My Supermarket and get iPoints for your shop too....
