hi, i'd really like to join in for april but not really sure of my spend as only just started keeping a spending diary again.
My previous figures were based on two people but now i'm living on my own again (well shared house, but not shared food!) I'm going to hazard a guess and say put me down for £80.00 - what does anyone think, is that too much or too little? I buy just food, a little bit of cleaning stuff, we all share that amongst us, and toiletries
Meals at work are my downfall, so I'm going to try and take as much to work as possible !0 -

Chose what you feel comfortable the first months are a learning curve. £80 for one sounds reasonable. Remember to know your self what it does and doesnt include ie pet food, toiletries, cleaning etc. Just highlight the amount you chose in red.:j0 -
Thats me finished for this month. Underbudget
£114.62
Will have a think about my budget for next month, whilst waiting for it to be started... and see you all in the April thread0 -
I'm still underbudget by £17.11 so I've decided to extend March to a 5 week month as I only need to buy milk, apples and a sack of potatoes this week.
April will be a 4 week month 1st - 28th April and I'm really going to try and reduce to £200. I managed March at an average of £50 per week, so this should be do-able, I shall spend today planning my campaign.

Hi everyone
NSD yesterday and today, trying to get as many of these as possible to save some more money.
Have decided from next month I will be using a debit card that I opened once whilst doing a mystery shop that I've never used that has £35 on it, for my grocery shopping, that way temptation will be less as I actually have to take money out when I need it and not have the cash so readily available. Then I can also leave my switch card at home and still have some money if there is a real emergency. Am going to try and see if it helps with the unnecessary financial haemorrhage lol.
Thanx to everyone for their helpful suggestions on this challenge. See you all over on the April challenge.
Cheers
Casper

Hi Folks, hope you are all well.
Had a look at Quidco and joined, but can't seem to find energy cost comparisons, although there was an article on Scottish Power and an offer of £42 to switch. As I am already a customer it wasn't much good.
Just had to buy milk today so only 69p spent for GC but spent £x.xx on Fags and Booze
Well done nopot2pin, here, have a gold star or
Love the FM0 -

Hi Mike,
I did my comparison on USwitch and Moneysupermarket as instructed by Martin (follow red Insurance link at top of this page) and then made a note of the few top/cheapest suppliers and the particular tariff - then went to Quidco to see if those companies offered cash back. It is worth doing, as company A may be £2 cheaper than company B, but company B offers £x cash back - making them the best bet.
If you get substantial cash back, it is worth switching even if the bills are no cheaper at all.... SP, Npower, e.on and British Gas have the most cashback at the moment.
If none of these are any good for you, if you do switch to another company at least you can do it through USwitch (£12) of Moneysupermarket(£20) through Quidco - ie from the Quidco page.
Sorry if I am ranting, I am a bit obsessed with cash back at the moment!!
Good luck with this!0 -
Afternoon everyone
Do we all still have snow???? it is so strange here..its lovely n bright but snowing like crazy -but non of it is settlingHubby has gone golfing as we had a tootle out to the Naffi in senelager and there was NO snow there.. so off he has gone ..
Picked up some great bargains in the Naffi -whoopsies are the only thing i will buy out of there..so expensive otherwise....
The stuff i got is for April as non of the stuff will get used before then.. but as i have some of this months budget left i will take it out of there instead.. should save us even more in April- 750g sweet potatoes @ 50c should be €2.29....so got all 3 bags as they keep well and i love them sliced n roasted with a drizzle of balsamic nom nom nom
- mixed packs of asparagus n baby corn -which looked fresher than the ones with loads of days left
@ 50c should be €2.59 so got all 5 to par steam and freeze
- 500g mixed peppers @ €1 should be €1.99
- 4 huge fresh southern fried chicken breasts @€1 should be €3.05... so big that 1 breast cooked and cut into strips will make a meal for 2 of us in wraps with salad and tzatziki
We love asparagus..but its sooo expensive at the moment.. and only yesterday i saw a couple of lovely recipes for it.. 1 was a lovely flan so i may have to give that a goand some of the baby corn will go into the thai turkey curry i want to have a go at :T
right i will go and add that €6 to my signature
Hope everyone has had a god easter-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Back on topic!
I have £1.69 to last till the end of the month, so I may go over - but I'm feeling pleased with my first attempt! I've learnt loads and you lot feel like friends now (I am aware that that sounds a bit sad, but think I'm in good company there!).
Looking forward to next month, I'm going to go for £200 again, for me, DD(18) and DS(8) but this time include more, like take aways and sneaky snacks at work.0 -
I'd like in again for £150 for April please.I don't have a final total for March yet but will let you know when I dolost my way but now I'm back ! roll on 2013
