Finally caught up with all the posts, I survived my stay in hospital and am recouperating at my parents!:D I may move back to my flat Tuesday as I'm a bit more mobile now. Looking to be in budget this month (but that includes a 4 day stay in hospital and a week at my mums:rotfl: )

When my first op was cancelled I menu planned for the month and only used a few things before I was whisked in, so will rehash that for April (I have enough in the freezer to last more than a month :o ), so really I just need f & v (famous last words!).

Mrs McM - can you put me down for £80 again in April - not including the cat - but I stock up when the food she likes is on offer (which at the mo Mr M is doing!)

    I can't believe what I used to buy ....

I'll declare on Friday (no doubt I'll have convinced one of my parents to let me loose near a supermarket by then!)

Great to read all your posts and (((hugs))) to those that need it.

Ok I'm useless. I've done really badly this month, mainly due to work commitments and I've been ill the last 10 days, so got really lazy. So I'm going to declare at £132.18 and force myself to have NSD's for the rest of the week. I have enough in the freezer to feed us for a month!

Mrs M can you put me down for £120 for april please. I will try harder!

I've just switched from Scottish Power to E.on and although the year's saving was less than £20 - through Quidco I got (will get) £55 cash back.... so that cheered me up a bit! (I know USwitch will offer some cash or wine, but I found Quidco better this time.)
    Hope this helps someone.
Thanks Sarah, Lil_Me and someone else who's name escapes me. I will have a look at Quidco but don't hold out much hope. The Government has instructed the Regulator to look at the energy companies pricing in view of the profits that they are making, but again I don't hold out much hope. They all seem to be in each others pockets these days.

Oh dear! I have thanked all those ladies who posted on the subject of Sanitary Towels. Why I did this I have no idea as I don't really what they are. Could anyone please explain please .

Thanks FFM for the Ultimate Choc Chip Cookies and the Peanut Butter Cookies. I promise I'll have a go at them sometime as DW loves chocolate and I love peanut butter.

Have updated my siggie and as I thought we will be well over budget this month. I have a feeling that this is due to the rise in foodstuffs though haven't done a comparison. We have no Lidl, Netto etc near us and the Mr. T is a Metro. Also we live in a very expensive area in Berkshire and I don't drive anymore. Hey Ho! that's life I suppose, but as we are on a limited income I'm getting a bit depressed about our future. But lets look on the bright side, we're off on holiday on the 4th of April, down to sunny Cornwall and with a bit of luck the Kids will pay for everything ;):D.

On the subject of expensive shops, I read a quote in my Daily Paper which said "We're awfully grateful to Tesco as they keep the Riff-Raff out of Waitrose". Gross or what?
Welcome the Newbies and :grouphug: to those who's problems are so much greater than mine.

    Love the FM

I know that it seems icky  but I'd never turn back after using them for years. I used to buy from a lady that sold on the SAHM shopping site. Can't remember the link. Ebay sells them too.
They are brilliant...so comfy and get nicer through use. ;)

If you search there have been a number of threads in here about them, no doubt with links. I think they are totally money saving, too. :D There were instructions on how to make your own.

Ohh just spotted that the second link with take you through to the 'working at home mall' ...just click on right hand at top. Its where people sell their goods from home, mainly SAHM's I think.

I haven't read all the thread yet, but I looked this up a while back and found these instructions. Hope it helps.

    Hi

Spent £3.57 today on squash and cheese.

I've done an online Tesco shop but will be delivered Tuesday from April Budget, so I'll post spends then. Forgot to look for a code (doh!) but went through ipoints/mysupermarket so I''l get some points from there. I decided to try and get a months worth of stuff so can just go to local shops for fresh stuff and weekly top-ups. We will see how it works. (At least I shouldn't run out of catfood/toilet paper).

Had Mrs M's tortillas for tea and I'm still stuffed. Was a thumbs up all round which is amazing as I usually have to do at least 2 different dishes for tea cos no-one likes the same thing!!!!

I've not done a menu planner yet, so will probably do that tomorrow.

Hope you all had a good Easter x

Can I set my budget at £270 for April, I now I'm going up (wrong direction) but I have the school spring fair to bake for, and DH birthday dinner with the family so I hope I manage within budget.:D

    Hya Folks

Oh ******!!!! We have so gone over on our March budget..:eek::eek: £560.68 instead of £400!!!!.:eek::eek:

Mrs M please put me down for £400 for April...we will try again!

I am organised this time, and drew up a 3 week menu list which is on the fridge door. The freezer has a list of the freezers' (one large, one small) contents, as well as my two food cupboards. Like someone previously, I delete and add food accordingly.

We have had 2 NSDs in a row so far, and could well have another before I have to stock up on milk, f and v on Tuesday.

At little sis's today for Easter...she fed us loads...as usual...came away with 8 rolls, which will go well will HM soup tomorrow.

Have now finished my one Easter egg, so starting tomorrow with a clean slate...no chocolate for ages now!

Must go and catch up on other threads...hope everyone has had a good Eater, despite the weather!

    M
