    Morning everyone.

Yesterday I had to go to Asda & Morrisons, spent the grand total of £51.97.

I have my Sil and her family coming for dinner today, and a few drinks, so I had to buy dinner in for that, and stuff for making a cheesecake for dessert.
I needed a few things myself anyway, but, if I hadnt been having my dinner guests, I wouldnt have been anywhere near that amount.

I did actually spend alot more than that, cos, I bought beer for the men, wine for SIL and I, easter eggs for my kids and all nieces and nephews and a cookery book, but, I havent included these in my spend because they will come from different budgets.

Im quite pleased with myself, cos, I set a budget of £250 for March, but, I dont think I will come anywhere near that amount. I shouldnt need to buy anything else for dinners/lunches before April (that I can think of anyway).

Last night Dh sat me down and asked if we had money troubles because he keeps hearing me say "oh Im not paying this amount for that", and "Im not wasting money", and cos I do some shoppng at Lidls and Aldi for shopping:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: .
I explained that I was just trying to cut down on what we spend because I thought we spent too much on rubbish. I showed him this thread, and explained there were many people who did this whether they had money troubles or not.

Maybe this will get him on board, cos, he spends more money than me.

Anyway, I best be off, and get the house ready for my guests.
My bloomin neck is still sore, ive got no idea what Ive done to it, and painkillers will not take the pain away:mad:  .

    Have a nice day everyone.

I meant to join this in april and practise quietly in march, but things went totally to hell and now I can't face it. I have spent more money since coming in here to save money, than I ever spent before !!

    Morning everyone and happy easter
Know exactly what you mean, I'm quite new and it is only now I feel I am beginning to reap the benefits from my 'original spends', initially I spent more when I had come on to save  - breadmaker, store cupboard ingredients, baking trays, (also washable sanitary towels - fab investment, washing balls - not so good), almost bought a food processor but mum gave me her old one, have resisted temptation to buy a second freezer :j - no room really. Now I am getting all caught up in planting veggies etc - I call it speculating to accumulate :rotfl:So yes you will come thru the other side.

Thanks for the answer about putting budget figure in red - how do I do this? :o
Off to get my porridge now - nomnom (love that nomnom thing!)

Do you see the big A at the top of your post, when you post...
Use the drop down arrow next to it, to change the colour to RED
If you forget... then highlight your words.. then use the drop down arrow next to the big A and it will change all your words RED

Thies is the scene we awoke to this morning the boys decided breakfast could wait so they could be the first outside. The first photo was taken at 7.20 and the snowman was taken at 9am.

  • Bother already over budget and now have run out of squash and the kids are now finishing of my OJ. Spent £2 of OH's on eggs (a reminder not to send DD1 to shop as she picked up organic!). Going to need more oven chips so not doing very well. I see another few pounds going to be added to the March total.

To top it off I really wanted to do a car boot today but its snowing. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

    hi there Weemissy

Do you mean dough balls as in bread? when i make dough balls i usually make my normal bread dough, cut it into chunks... put a big thumb hole in the middle and put garlic butter in the middle, pinch so seal and squidg in a baking tin so they are all touching...

See what Rosieben means.... i freeze the tortilla dough ..in BALLS OF DOUGH :rotfl:

Ive just bought some more milk so thats £1.39 to add to the total, determined not to spend any more now until next months budget which starts for me on monday the 31st, so another whole week:eek: total spend this month of £75.53, and if I run out of milk it will have to be powdered stuff for a day or two

Please can you put me down for £60 for April :D

Have sat a done a full freezer/cupboard inventory in excel and that is now printed off and blue tacked to the back of the kitchen door (how sad am I:o) and looking through Ive come up with a rough meal plan for at least 20 evening meals combining leftovers already in the freezer and stuff I can bulk cook from what I have and then use to restock the freezer so fingers crossed I should only need fresh stuff next month. Then I might be able to defrost the freezer:rolleyes:

    Hi Mike,
we are with SP too and can`t find anything cheaper. My original DD was £87 and then went down to £62 as we were in credit but has now gone back up to £77.50 as we now owe them money as the last bill was enormous.
We did have a letter from them telling us that they now review accounts three monthly instead of annually so it will probably go down on the next review - unless you`re funding the street lights in your area or something :D
