i did the home shopping deliveries and certain people did exploit it, it was always the same people complaining that this and that were damaged or missing, yet other people never had an issue.we did random checks on shopping just to ensure that everything was there , and was all good, this also coverd aspects such as collusion ( as the system is open to abuse from many angles) .

I've probably had to phone Tesco to get money back for about 35% of my deliveries. I'm not 'exploiting' or 'abusing' any system, nor am I overtly fussy, but I object to paying for broken eggs and mouldy strawberries. I also asked for some money back when the driver came 30 mins early, before I got home, dumped the whole order outside and left, leaving behind smashed bottles of beer and a trail of broken glass all over the front steps. I don't think it's unreasonable of me to complain in those circumstances
Tesco are light years ahead of the competion when it comes to business sense, and the few people that do go elsewhere will only be the people that they can afford ( or want )to lose..

Well, I mostly do online shopping so I've don't use coupons, wombling or till spits and I only used one code a time to cover delivery charges, so it's not like Tesco were losing out with me. The opposite really; I tend to buy organic and gourmet products so spend well above the average on groceries. I know I am only a small amoeba in the mighty Tesco empire, but there's a growing group of people like me who are fed up wih poor quality food and service.
as for ringing them over 85p...the call will cost all of that!!, use a bit of savy.

No - I wouldn't phone them either in those circumstances; there's lots of times I haven't bothered, particularly because being left on hold for so long can lead to an expensive call. But all those 85ps add up and have pushed me in the direction of Ocado as I feel I'm being ripped off by Tesco.

Tesco petrol is always 2 -3p more than anywhere else. You pay for the points. My local Asda is (at the moment) 102.9 and I have an Adsa Mastercard that also gives me 2p a litre off. It might not seem much but it soon adds up :j
