My 3.5 year old can still fit into her little bro's techno xt. It's 3 years old and still going strong.

So little money - so much time
  • I have a cosatto 'toronto', its similar to the pliko (had one of those, loved it) in that it has a wide seat and high back. my dd is 3 and is quite diddy for her age and she looks lost in it when the footmuff is on, we use it for playgroup and town (I dont drive and both a quite far away) and probably will for another year or so. Had a quick look on ebay and there are a couple going for about £40.

  • My oldest is a very, very tall lad and when he was in a buggy I found the biggest one was the mamas and papas pulse. It has a high back, is light and easy to fold and the brakes are good.

I am still using it for my 1 year old. It has been WELL used.

  • gingham i remember you telling me you used a pulse, but the one i tried roo in seemed very shallow. perhaps they've changed the design. my current pliko is a newer model than my old one and it's not as nice, i preferred my old one!! the seat is the same, but the folding etc. i don't like.

  • Try to get him walking short distances to places. Due to the birth of my second my first dd stopped having a pram at all at around 27 28 months.
    Loving the dtd thread. x
  • i can go without the pram on short journeys, i don't use it every day but if we are at alton towers or the farm for the whole day then he needs a pram. some children still have a daytime nap at that age too.

  • The seat on the pulse isn't as deep as some other buggies, but it has a good sturdy sort of 'flap' that can be raised to the same level as the rest of the seat which seems to compensate fine. But it was the width and height that swung it for me. The back was high enough for him to fall asleep in or just rest.

  • i think it's the same height as the pliko?

at the time i bought mine roo had short legs (but a very long body, which made it even harder to find a pram with a tall backrest) and the problem with the pulse just seemed to be where his legs rested. now that he's got longer legs a pulse would probably be okay.

roo is 2 and a half now and the backrest of the pilko only reaches his neck really, he can't lay his head back. but he managed to sleep for more than an hour in it this week (he fell asleep after his exercise class - doh! so i went to tesco) by sort of curling his head round to the side a bit. he did look ridiculous though, and somebody asked if he'd had a hard day at school - i told her he's only 2 :rotfl: he seemed comfortable enough though and i don't think there's anything with a higher backrest?

he hardly ever falls asleep during the day now though, so really the pram is for when his legs are tired. i know some children have a daytime nap at his age, but maybe they can just put their head to one side

What's with all the giant 2 year olds??? :rotfl:

My 2 year old is massive as well (goodness knows what we're all feeding them!):D

I have a Maclaren Techno XT - and he fits in it really comfortably. It's easy to fold, has a high backrest and plenty of legroom.

And I found the extendable handles really useful with being so tall myself - no more backache.

    This is similar:
