OS 26th February

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 26th February 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Hi there

Well two days on the trot I am starting the thread. My body clock totally out of sync with DH being away. He wouldn't let me fall asleep 9.00 to wake up in the middle of the night. Have work in the morning so will be like a zombie.

Smoky - thanks for taking the time to update us. Thinking so much about you, your DH. Hope the family OK and coping too. Please take time for yourself - easy to say but you need time to gather strength for the time ahead.

Love and hugs.

Only now having looked at the OP I visited a few of your posts and understand problems on your home end smoky - so sorry I didn't notice them earlier and feeling bad about having come across as insensitive. I'm not still certain as to the extent of the seriousness of your husband's illness though I wish he receives the best and appropriate care, he feels safe throughout the treatment and responds well. Wishing you your husband and everyone at home strength and that you all have the support you'd need from the doctors carers and family - not to forget to take good care of yourself as well smoky.

    Morning all

Smoky, have the best birthday you can.

It's another day, another dollar for me, though it's my late shift today. I'll have a few very unexciting things to do before I go to my glamourous job clanging Sainsbury's till.

    Happy Tuesday everyone.

Good morning everyone. First of all, a very Happy Birthday to SMOKY and thank you for updating us about your OH. We are all thinking of you, wishing there was something we could do. Massive (((hugs))) to you, your OH and your family.

    REDRUBY - (((hugs))) to you.

Well, just a quickie before I have to get the day going. I've just spent the last hour on Ravelry downloading knitting patterns - I've now got so many patterns in my stash that I intend to make for presents but I'm not sure I'll ever get round to making half of them.

I didn't get to the gym yesterday despite the best of intentions; I put my gym bag in the car but, by the time I had finished all the errands I had to run, it was lunchtime and I was starving! I try and go three times a week but things always get in the way.

Stuffed potato jackets for dinner tonight with - well, I don't know what with, yet. I'll have to look around for some inspiration.

Well, off to get the breakfast ready so see you all later. Have a great day.

    Morning everyone,

Smoky Happy Birthday and I hope you have the best day you can possibly have under the circumstances. Thanks for the update yesterday. :A

I finished off a bit of sewing I had to do. It turned out pretty bad :D but what else is new. The jeans I mended DH last week have already ripped again. :rotfl:I am a rubbish sewer. My mother was very talented in that dept and when she would come to visit I would have her on the sewing machine as soon she'd unpacked. :D

In pain this morning. I've done something to my back, but I don't know what:o Was very late getting to bed as I went to see Equus, which is on tour here. Took my sis with free tickets:D

Haven't heard back from job people yet. Think I may call them if I don't hear soon, as he said he was going to email me yesterday, but I've not heard anything.

Withdrew more of the deposit for the flat yesterday, got to get the final bit today and give it all to the solicitor. Then that should be near enough it.

Paid £60 pin money into its very own savings account too:T

    Hope everyone's ok

Hi Dazi the stalker, lol, now you've shown yourself, we'll expect mor regular posts.
Off to work soon, but at least I won't have to scrape the ice of the car today as it's lashing down.
I've been following the shabby chic thread with interest, but have decided my house is sadly lacking in chic.
    Hugs to those in need.

Smokey, it doesn't seem right to wish you a happy birthday under the circumstances, but hope you have something good in your day x

N9eav, hope they let you back out, if we don't hear from you for a few days, we'll know why ;)

This new keyboard is driving me mad, I seem to have lost my typing ability :D

Sw weigh in today, I think I have lost weight, but someone said a cup of tea can put 2 lbs on and I will have had 2 by the time I go, so we will have to wait and see

Pasta for lunch, and leek and bacon bake for tea

Looks windy out there again, but wet, so no washing drying today

Have a good day everyone x

Hopefully my helper will be here this morning without the baby! Shes a cute 6 month old girl, but boy is she a handful:eek:

WM has been on and needs to be emptied and sausages out for Toad In Hole for dinner.
