The bank won't let them transfer the mortgage to our house (even though our house is worth more), or let them turn it into an unsecured loan because their credit rating is shocking.

    Hi

I don't think mortgages are ever transfered from one property to another. Whenever we have moved, we have always taken out a new mortgage - you pay off the old mortgage and get a new one. I don't think any bank would turn a secured loan into an unsecured one.

Sorry your stressed and hope you can see a way through...parents:rolleyes::D

    Kind Regards

Well the problem is that they SAID they would and could do that. Then today said no. The loan idea was the banks too - said they would avoid all the fees then.

I've got over the shock and have donned my thinking cap. I will find a solution!!! Damn it - I can do this!!! C'mon.....

OOOOh good plan. I've had a few glasses of vino now though so will wait till I'm a little more clear headed and can explain it properly. No point posting if it won't make sense. Ha ha

OH has gone up to his bro's sulking and to have a few beers. He's incredibly stressed about the whole thing - not helping that his dis is due in a week on Monday and he still has a fair old bit to do.

Awwww....I hate it when people are all mean and nasty. I've read quite a few threads particularly on the DFW board, and its horrid. How sad must peoples life be if they actually waste their time logging on to be horrible to someone.

I think on the whole I've been really lucky. Almost everyone I've spoken to on here has been lovely. And I've had some AMAZING advice. I honestly think the people on here have wised me up to A LOT and saved me LOADS of hassle and money.

I just wish I could help other people out more to repay the favor. As it stands I don't know enough to offer any useful advice. Ha ha

We have come up with a plan now. We are going to see what happens with regard to getting the money for mum and dad (or rather them getting the money).

If they can't we are going to extend the mortgage anyway and just do up our house. Make it nice and snuggly. We are also looking into moving our long term goal of moving abroad forward as well.

All I need now is extra money and I'll be happy. I honestly can't think of how to cut our expenses and make more money - its very frustrating. Boo.

I hope so. Apparently it gets good around easter/May time. So fingers crossed I'll be sorted then. Until that time though, I can only save money, rather than pay anything off.

I'm not looking forward to the interviews I gotta say. I filled in 2 application forms, but heard nothing back. Mind you the ad's weren't really for NQT's so I was chancing my arm a little. Nevermind, it was good practice for filling in the forms anyway.

Just sending off my check to open my savings account with HiSAVE too. Got an email that their interest rates have just increased too! So that will hopefully provide me with somewhere to store any extra cash I might have.

    I'm trying anyway!
Good luck with the job hunting. Most of the jobs for Sept will arrive around the May 1/2 term time as this is the latest date anyone leaving in July can hand their notice in. I'm about to start my third and final term as an NQT, I qualified last September, got a job from 2nd interview and have not looked back. I will find out soon if I will get permanant contract otherwise I will be job hunting too (Most NQTs wil only get a years temp contract) If you want to earn more money look for some private tutoring once you are qualified, I do tons at present cos hubby has been put on 4 day week, it really helps with the cash flow and I love it because you can really help a child through problems and develop their education (Obviously in school you can do this but with a class of 30 it takes longer!)
Good luck and if you need any more help/advice PM me.
