Boo hiss, what a rubbish end to what sounded like a super productive week! DS1's school was closed today too due to no heating, what shut late too, about 8.10am so a burst pipe too I reckon.

Will have a think about a pressie for your HOD - he sounds ace!
    Updating soon...
  • I'm sure there are minimum legal temperatures you can work at.

That sounds a horrendous day. hopefully they get that lot fixed over the weekend. xx

He is ace. I genuinely love him. He was so sweet on Wednesday...did a sweep of the department to make sure everyone was leaving ASAP (closed early due to the snow). He was last man out and has been walking our preggers lady in dept to the car arm in arm everyday since the bad weather started even if he's not leaving yet himself!! He keeps kicking up a fuss on her behalf as well. He's ace!!

There are and I think we were below them!!! I'm secretly hoping they don't and we get more time off. Or they do and it's completely business as usual. Couldn't cope with another day like today!!

  • I think schools round here will struggle again next week. Can't see all our snow going over the weekend, and i am dreading the walk to school as it sounds like all the paths are horrendous and most people walking on the road. I won't be doing that with 2 kids i tell you.

I feel for any school who has to close at the minute, as it will be so hard to keep the kids on track till the end of term after having time off.

Bet you are shattered tonight too. Always hard when you are cold, and it is hard enough at this stage of term.

Yeah, I've already had a nap...just couldn't keep my eyes open. Today was a farce...kids were such hard work and I can't cope with another night like it. I just hope we close if we need to next week...I really can't face another week like this week.

It is odd though, it's more or less clear where I am. Very little snow at all - even though the temperatures are very grim.

Although I am starting to feel the time pressures connected to exams that are looming. I still have a bit to get through with them all...it's a tad worrying.

  • Just make sure you have plenty of sleep too this weekend. Easy to get run down. Don't want you getting really ill again over the hols seems though the other stuff wasn't sorted.

Don't stress too much about getting stuff done. You can only do your best. And we know how good you are. xx

Bless you...I fear I may have painted a false picture there...ha ha. I'm not going to kill myself though. You are right. I'm feeling pretty wiped out as it is...so it's a chill out weekend for me doing as little as humanly possible! :D

Still waiting to hear back from the hospital as well with regard to my health stuff....no rush there so it can't be serious. LOL

Belle had her trial at the kennels today. She went in ok, straight into the outside run. Apparently she was quite nervous, but they gave her a little meat treat which she ate (greedy pup) and let them all pet her (tart). Then she was taken for a little walk.

When we came to pick her up... she was slow to come out wagging her tail like a loon. When she came out she looked a bit scared because of all the barking. The man yelled quiet please and all the dogs shut up...it was mad. She looked a bit happier then.

We took her outside and she was just running between the kennel people for fuss. Erm, hello...we are your owners!! Bless her. She's pretty much been crashed out ever since. Seems happy enough though...been much less of a mard !!!! than usual. So it might have done her some good.

Anyway, it was all free and she's been really chilled out and crashed out on her bed ever since. Bless her cottons. I feel so much better about leaving her now. She's my big brave girl! :D

  • I found my cats really like it at the cattery. My ginger one who is flighty is less fond but he doesn't like anything new and only tolerates us. He'll let me nurse him, but not DH. My fat black cat loves the place. The lady who works there always grooms him and feeds him naughty titbits. She feels sorry for him as she has looked after him since he was a kitten, and he always exagerates his limp for a fuss. I'm sure Belle will be ok there. It won't be quite the same as home, but not like they are left alone to defend for themselves. She will be spoiled. Tip though - watch out for fleas when she comes home. Ours once came home riddled and i didn't notice. We had to treat all of downstairs where they use. I always slip our two a frontline treatment before they go and check them when they come home for peace of mind. Nothing worse, particularly when you are really busy.

Hope your test results are back soon. It is not helpful waiting so long. Must make you worry more.
