On the market for 2 weeks - no viewings

Hi,
We put out house on the market two weeks ago and we've had no viewings at all. Is this normal?
The EA did call to say that the beginning of Feb had been quiet but said nothing about anyone being interested or even requesting more details. Am I doing something wrong?
I want to get rid of the house soon......I just really hope it doesnt take forever!!

Something's wrong. The time you hit the market should be the busiest really as the EA can contact people on their database already looking for something like your house.
Do you have a rightmove link?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

It's a quiet time of year.
Funny though, when I asked about selling, my EA said they were busy - especially for houses like mine.
The credit crunch and uncertainty over the housing market will impact sales. If you want to sell, it is usually better to reduce the price.
When I sold my last place I had no viewings for two weeks then some old bloke had a look around. A week later and the daughter of an old lady made an offer on behalf of her mum. After I refused to budge on asking price (because it hadn't been on the market long), she offered full asking.

To be honest the pictures dont really do it justice. Maybe this is why?
When we got the house valued (about a week before putting it on the market) the EA said they'd had a really busy January and he didnt think it would take long to sell this one.:beer:0 -

Most expensive semi £164,500 in Nov 06
When I sold a similar property in 2003 it was £10K more than a semi in your street at the same time.It is now worth <£170K.
Price is maybe too high.

Nice place. How does the price compare with other places nearby?0 -
Lovely house. Is that Eyeore sitting on the floor? It totally distracted me from admiring your lounge, it took me ages to figure out what it was LOL, the bin doesn't do it any favours either.
Also any chance of removing the sofa from the second bedroom because it makes it look small. I would also add a few colourful pots at the front. I don't know the location, but the house seems lovely overall, good luck!0 -
Hi,
That most expensive semi was the one im living in! It was a mess when we bought it, no central heating, needed all new electrics and no kitchen also the bathroom needed ripping out.
The whole house is brand new and was completed last year. It also has a lush wet room bathroom (although I am biased!)
The houses in Brixham really vary. This is because, like everywhere, there are nicer areas to live in. Im lucky in that the area I live in is considered to be a 'nice area'.
Hmmmm really stuck as to what to do.....:beer:0 -
In a rising market, property !!!!!! TV shows feature people making lots of £££s by doing property up. In truth, most would make money doing nothing.
The market is turning and you may want to sell quickly. Somewhere nearer £180K would attract viewings.
Why no pictue of the wet room? Might be better to call it a shower room or bathroom. It may look lovely but elderly people may not know what a wet room is. I think it needs to attract a retired or disabled new owner.
p.s. Not sure I'd post my address on here.

Here are some pics I took...what do you think in comparison?:beer:0

Re: rightmove : Love the kitchen picture and the middle garden picture. The others make the house look tidy but not 'pimped up' which you say it is. I also would like to see a picture of the 'fabulous' bathroom.
Picture of parking would be worthwhile too - something we don't have a lot of in places down here!
Off to look at your pictures now...
Yours are far better although they don't take as much of the whole room as I'd like - still better than the EAs if you ask me. Can you pimp up your bed a bit using things you already own ?...... that picture still looks a bit boring. Perhaps cushions or a cream fleece at the bottom of the bed and certainly the bedding ironed (I don't iron mine either but would for a EA picture)0
