thanks for this iv passed it on to a friend who wants to sell her house without an estate agent
  • It will be good if I can sell through you as we have had no luck so far with estate agent.

I would be pleased to donate to Martins favourite charity if we can move my property.

    Great idea too!!
  • Thanks for the free offer Clive, I've just finished putting my property on Search4 Homes. Nothing ventured nothing gained. :D

    Hi everyone,

Gosh, what a day!!!!! I'm still sending out usernames and passwords as we speak, but I needed to take a break from it for personal sanity's sake!

A quick note to everyone who has requested a free listing - you will receive your details shortly if you have not yet received them. Please bear with me as I have to log each person individually into our database, and then generate a username & password for them. This takes around 5 minutes per person, and I am going as fast as I can.

With regard to the Rightmove comment a few posts ago, Rightmove is owned by a consortium of large estate agents. One of the main players is the Countrywide group (previously Hambro et al). They have a number of estate agency firms within their group that include Millers, Fulfords, and recently (i.e. from last week) Stratton Creber which was formerly Bradford & Bingley owned.

Like the Little House Company, we were also on their website until we were both 'booted off' in July as they decided to stop allowing 'non-estate agents' to advertise. This is no major problem to us, as we are starting a 0.5% estate agency ourselves shortly and may consider reapplying for their website again - but I won't hold my breath ; )

Basically, Rightmove did not like the fact that we were 'stealing commission' from their estate agent members. I can see their point, and am quite flattered by it really!

It is fair to say that Rightmove is a large website, but do bear in mind that as a previous poster mentioned it is chock full of all their members properties. As each office will have around 80 - 120 active properties at any time on average, just do your sums.

It is interesting to observe that most (if not all) 'Rightmove' agents do not list their clients' properties anywhere else (i.e. they seldom appear on independent sites such as Asserta, Fish4 etc.). A cynic may wonder whether they are actually discouraged from using 'other independent property portals'? If so, I wonder why?

Bear in mind that as most of the agents on Rightmove are part of the same group, is it possible that they could manipulate their clients' property prices to avoid 'blue on blue' problems (i.e. it doesn't matter which member of their group you instruct if they are all singing from the same sheets with regard to prices and commission rates!) I'm probably just being paranoid here - caused by too much computer work and not enough sleep.

It does make you wonder though. Why are there no independent firms on there? (I haven't seen any).

Philosophical session over - I have more usernames and passwords to send out.

    Kind regards

    Clive

  • Hi Clive
I,m really keen to hear more about your offer. Sounds too good to miss as I am about to put my house on the market. i have e mailed you (yesterday) and am eagerly awaiting your reply.
    ;)
  • In response to my previous post and replies, first of all apologies for the spelling mistake it should read https://www.propertysell.co.uk
I have made adjustments to the bottom text, reduced it and also optimized it slightly, it is at the bottom of the page so not really a problem with regards user interaction but if anyone would like to challenge me with regards my search engine optimization techniques i have proof of my success with this and other websites, at the end of the day the most important thing is getting the content of the site noticed and working for my clients in helping them sell their house, in the short amount of time we have been online we have doubled our visitors every week, last month over 35000 hits.
The choice is yours where you place your house for sale, i am simply offering another option and more exposure for your property for sale which cant be bad and it is free... Money saving? i would say so.
The listing of the site is completely free with an admin page to view visitor statistics to your property, change the text of your listing and also upload/change photos, i will say it again this service is completely free, we have an option of the featured property for £10 this is completely at your descretion and the money we make from that is reinvested in promoting the site.
    The choice is yours.
I make absolutely no money at all from the site, but it gives me great pleasure to know that i can offer something of use for someone at no cost to them.
    Regards
    Paul

  • FREE PROPERTY LISTING OFFER HAS NOW CLOSED - ALTERNATE OFFER NOW IN PLACE.

    Hi everyone,

Due to the phenominal take up on our free listing offer (over 250 people applied to list their properties with us!), the free offer must unfortunately end with immediate effect (we are however offering a special discounted deal to MSE members from now on - details of this are below.)

We have regretfully had to make this decision because the contracts that we have in place with our web partners are directly linked to the number of properties that we list with them i.e. the more we list, then the higher our listing costs become.

I never anticipated the incredible response that we received. Naturally, everyone who has applied for their free listing prior to the date and time of this post will have their property included on our website free of charge (where it will remain until sold).

I understand that this may upset some people, but please bear in mind that we are a relatively small business. Whilst I am delighted to be able to offer over 250 of my MSE friends the opportunity of effectively selling their properties completely free of charge, our listing costs have significantly increased as a result of this - and at the end of the day we all have to make a living at some point!

As a gesture of our committment to helping people to sell their own properties 'estate agent free', we are however offering our Silver package to all MSE members who have not yet applied for a free listing at a reduced rate of £59 instead of the usual £89. This offer is not listed on https://www.search4homes.co.uk for obvious reasons ;) so if you wish to list your property with us under this offer, please email me at msepromo@search4homes.co.uk and i'll make sure you get the lower MSE rate.

This reduced rate Silver package is still an excellent moneysaving deal as our 'competitors' charge around £129.

I'm sorry to have to end the free offer, but hopefully you will understand.

    Kind regards

    Clive
