Sell Your House Free With No Commissions At All

Insert From Martin: This was only a time limited gesture by Clive. That has now ended, though he is still offering the listing to MSE users at a limited price, see his post on page 2 of this thread

Hi there,

Having just benefited from a tip from this website and received several mobile phones at a knockdown price from Woolworths, I am in a jubilant mood and have decided to give something back to everyone on this board who is considering selling a property – no strings whatsoever attached.

I should at this point state to Martin and the board mods that this post is in no way for commercial or personal gain. I am offering a 100% freebie to board members as a way of saying thank-you for sharing numerous useful tips and advice. There is no payment required, and I will make no financial gain. If anyone requires confirmation of this, please contact me and I’ll happily confirm this. So, what is the freebie?

After becoming increasing annoyed at the huge commissions being charged by estate agents for very little work, I decided to do something about it.

I set up https://www.Search4Homes.co.uk as a means to market private properties commission free on the various top UK property websites and portals such as Fish4, Assertahome, MSN etc. (in fact around 150+ websites in all). It’s now rapidly becoming one of the UK’s top property websites, and by selling your own property you can save thousands of pounds in estate agents’ commission, which can’t be bad!
If you would like your property listed on Search4Homes completely free of charge, simply pm me or email me at msefreebie@search4homes.co.uk.

I’ll then provide you with a username and password so you can list your own property with Search4homes free of charge. This is the Silver Package, which normally sells for £89 and includes Assertahome coverage etc. (for info, the Little House Company charges £125 for this coverage). Rest assured your details will never be used for junk mail either.

Please don't try to order the package via the website - otherwise you will be charged £89!!!

As I mentioned above, this offer is genuinely being made with no financial gain to me whatsoever. It’s just nice to give something back once in a while, and I hope that it is taken as such.

PS If you do sell using this freebie, I would suggest an appropriate donation to Martin's favourite monthly charity.

    Hi,

Currently doing up my house to sell. Woudl be very interested in a free ad on your site.

    Best Regards

    Kev
  • You can get foreign currency "commision free" but if the exchange rate is less competitive you may sometimes be worse of with the commision free dealer.

It appears that you can advertise your house free and save £89 compared with advertising your house and actually paying £89.

If you would have advertised your house and paid £89 then this is an outstanding offer and saves you £89.

If you were considering using an Estate Agent then this offer could also save you thousands of pounds in Estate Agent's fees.

Or you might miss out on the higher sale price the Estate Agent might have secured for you ( I only say might ).

This posting is intended to take a neutral position on this matter.

    Robert,

Fair comment, but let me offer you a different perspective on things.

In my locality (the South West), most estate agents do not comprehensively market their clients properties on the internet. In fact, in six months of research I have only found one small independent estate agents firm offering a similar degree of coverage to what we offer.

The big boys at Countrywide (Millers, Fulfords, and now Bradford & Bingley et al) only use rightmove - no other websites. Most other agents usually only market their clients properties through their own small websites - hardly good coverage is it?

The whole conecpt behind Search4homes is that clients can use the service even if they are already marketing with an estate agent on a sole agency agreement. If they sell using Search4homes, there is no commission to pay anyone!

Equally, some clients come to us as they want to sell quicker and thus wish greater marketing exposure that their agent cannot provide. We help to produce leads which the client then can in turn pass onto their own agent (if they do not wish to sell their own home personally). We have a number of clients currently doing this.

In essence, if you are already with an agent, using our services will generally provide significantly more widespread marketing exposure for your property and that is a fact.

As for agents negotiating a better price for you, please look at the Office of Fair Tradings recent report and the Watchdog scambusters campaign. I think that the overall conclusion is that most (but obviously not all) estate agents do more harm financially to you than good. Remember, it is not me saying this, but the OFT and Watchdog.

If you sell your own home, it is really easy. More importantly, the whole process is transparent and fair.

If you doubt this, I am sure that there are many people on these boards who have sold their own homes without an agent that would be happy to voice their comments.

In the future, selling your own house will be as popular as it is now to sell your own car, using say Autotrader - rather than getting a poor deal on a trade-in with a garage.

We are not anti-estate agent. We are simply against people earning quite staggering sums of money and providing a poor level of service and marketing in return.

Hope that this addresses some of your issues, and thank-you for your comments. It's always nice to have public feedback and criticism (where due) as it helps us to understand clients better, and provide a top quality service.

    Kind regards

    Clive

    Bump

    Bump ?

Whats that supposed to mean ?

I know your eager to up your post count and star rating by increasingly posting BS, but the rating is meaningless if the post contents are mostly BS.

  • A "Bump" is a deliberate post the intention of which is to place the thread higher up the page.
A "sticky" keeps a thread at the top of the page whereas a bump just moves it up the page.

The unspoken message in  a "bump" is that the person doing the bumping thinks the post deserves to spend a little longer near the top of the page.

There are two versions of this thread.
Martin Lewis himself endorses the other version and his endorsement also acts as a bump.

  • I also run a free property website https://www.propertsell.co.uk.
It is absolutely FREE to list your site for sale, we do not take listings from estate agents and therefore unlike many other websites, we do not have the same houses listed on our site, generally if you use a portal which lists on several sites you end up viewing the same houses all the time.
We are a new site only 2 months old and we will never charge our clients for listing their house for sale.
