Dont forget according to health and safety he is obliged to take a break during his 8 hour day and if he chooses to take it at that house with the owners pernission it has nothing to do with you or RM.

I dont see the posties round here popping into a house for a bit and im sure they have been working for a couple of hours,
But how do you know that, unless you follow them round the street?
For all you know they may take a break 10 minutes up the road from your house.
But like izzitme said already:Where I deliver we are entitled to a 40 minute break during the working day (most of our office take this at the end of their delivery so we finish a bit earlier) & also a 15 to 20 minute break whilst out on the round.
Perhaps he splits his breaks up differently?0 -
lol you cant win.
people moan they see poasties finishing early and moan when they see them taking breaks
this was the carrot of the dropping of the 2nd delivery and making routes substantialy larger.
you finished whenever you finished the route,so many run round the duty ithout taking any breaks to get finished sharp.
this is why there was a furor when crosier & leighton starting moaning posties were finishing before their time. this was the whole benifit of the system they introduced.
fyi in many offices(inc. my own) posties are being artificially kept in later so as to start later by delaying the final missort run.
so dont always assume your posties the reason the mail keeps getting later0 -
I know from when I have a day off that my post has gone from being delivered mid morning to coming between 4-6pm. To be honest I'm at work all day, it doesnt really matter when it gets there but I think a 6.30pm delivery is taking the mick a bit.Smile. Its the second best thing you can do with your lips....0

remember its most likely your post is being done on overtime at that time of day.
dont take it out on the postie,he/she is helping to cover the cracks of rm's toip management ripping things to pieces

That is the case where I live. I am in a new build, and although the next street is on a normal delivery, our mail is never delivered until the afternoon. The (quite lovely!) postman informs me that it is done on overtime, and he usually volunteers because it is on his way home (I'm not sure what he does if anything is undeliverable)! xGone ... or have I?0 -
will drop it off in a post box/office.
most likely your street hasnt been added to a duty yet,so is covered in overtime.
its a common thing as no one wants it added to their duty
im the same as i have an new development on my duty but the duty next to mine is 250 less calls than mine.
so im asking for some to be put on that than me being 350+ more than that duty.
of course the other guy says he's too busy already

Seemingly he cannot drop it in at a post office (I know where he lives, and they have all closed near us!
), I imagine he has to go back to the sorting office (it is not closer than the remaining post office!).
Yep, it hasn't been added to a duty yet ... even though I've lived here for two years!
I'm not complaining though. I would rather have a friendly, reliable postman and wait until the afternoon ... and I don't even mind if he takes a break!
