As Sssss & bestpud say, rather than get worked up and complain online and wait ages for a resolution, why don't you go over (or wait till he delivers) and ask him if he wouldn't mind delivering your post just before he stops for his morning break. Chances are if you ask nicely he'll do it and then you don't have to worry anymore.0

The postmna is paid is paid to do a job so he should be doing it which is to deliver mail, granted we dont know what he does in said house but its not his job to pop in on his employers time, id complain to be honest but dont mention your name,
Dont forget according to health and safety he is obliged to take a break during his 8 hour day and if he chooses to take it at that house with the owners pernission it has nothing to do with you or RM.0 -

He's breaking no rules, on another note, no one is entitled to their mail at a certain time, i think if your in town its up to 2.00pm and rural its 3.00pm as long as you get one delivery a day that is it.0 -
if your post is that urgent get it sent to your business address instead of your home

its way later than that.IIRC the technical time is 18.00!!!
as said the postamn is entitled to take a break.most take it at the end of their round and so finish earlier.
you know that thing about finishing early that many moaned about
as long as you are not claiming overtime and finishing the delivery + making 12/1pm SD delivery times then RM really dont mind you taking your time on the duty.
its a vague area TBH as peoples delivery speed is varied.
however by the rules you are not allowed in peoples houses on your duty
i had a customer complain about me(in writing) that i didnt stop to stand and chat with her like the old postie did.
maybe i should go and have tea at hers for an hour

You are wasting your time complaining unless you have some specific delivery guarantee in your area (which is highly unlikely). The statement below is the Royal Mail's standard residential policy taken from their website.
For addresses in urban areas we endeavour to make one delivery every working day by 2pm. For addresses in rural areas Royal Mail endeavours to make one delivery every working day by 3pm
Generally postal workers are not on fixed times. They are free to go home once their particular delivery has been finished. If your postman is stopping for a break, as long as your mail is being delivered before those times the Royal Mail are not going to be concerned.0 -
Get the urgent post delivered special delivery by 9am then you wont have a problem. The world doesnt revolve around you.0

I'm sure this is a stupid question but...Have you bothered to ask the postman to deliver your mail before he has his 'break' as it is urgent?Debts: Gym £[strike]465.75[/strike] Student account [strike]£1039.88[/strike] Overdraft [strike]£129.00[/strike] Credit Card [strike]£2772.22[/strike] Loan [strike]£6222.01 [/strike]
Total £10628.86
All paid off! 10/03/2009 :j0 -
Where I deliver we are entitled to a 40 minute break during the working day (most of our office take this at the end of their delivery so we finish a bit earlier) & also a 15 to 20 minute break whilst out on the round.
Perhaps he splits his breaks up differently?Going down the Oteley Road to see the Shrewsbury aces! :T0 -
