  • It has the highest interest rate at the moment. Also the buzz of clearing it off will be nice. Hopefully I will make a good inroad into my o/d this week. That is the priority for March, clear that.

I will pay as much as I can to my debt every week.

    Hi Mate,

Just a quickie that no-one has picked up on......and as they say every penny helps!!!
and my beer is being paid for with Tesco Club Card Points same for the food.
Never, use your clubcard points instore, as you only get like for like....

Save them up and then use for DEALS. That way they are worth FOUR TIMES more.

There are all sorts of deals available, days out, meals, tickets, hotels, jewellers etc...etc...

For every tenner of points, you can redeem and get £40 to spend on wherever you choose!!
  • Read that today when I was looking at the AA and Rac. Never heard of that before. Funny how they keep that quiet eh.

    Thanks for that.

  • I am £716 for a Skoda Superb also a 57 plate. That is just for me but does include protected no claims bonus. Very few firms offer that for taxi insurance up here. I have 8 years no claims bonus and couldn't handle losing that. I think I was £1400 for my first lot of insurance when I first started.

They were wanting £2000 for renewal when I had a claim pending for a bump that wasn't my fault. Protected no claims is a must for me now.

Can I ask who you have your insurance through?

My OH is a private hire driver and pays about £2k a year in insurance.

He has a Renault Laguna 52 plate.

I don't think he has any no claims as he says taxi ins companies don't normally do this?!

You will get a statement through the post every 1/4. Save the coupons inside..
Obviously depends how much you spend, but last year we had about £108 which in DEALS worked out at £432.
Have read some posts on this forum though and people collect all year, maybe 2, then go abroad with the money!!

Zenith. The broker is a company called Lawrie Ross in Cumbernauld Village. 01236 737277. They do no claims bonus and also a protected ncb as well. I didn't even phone other companys when they offered me that. In the past no one has been able to touch them.

That is a very high quote has he had a claim against him this year?

if you go into your taxi licensing office they should have a magazine PHM if they do..there are loads of adverts for taxi insurance in there give those a call and also check the insurance brokers in your area.
  • Must have had a claim. No way that should be so high any other way. Try that company when your renewal is due taxi73. I used to phone everyone, they were never beaten.

Nope he's never had a claim.

I'll try some of those companies for him.

I thought it was high but I wasn't sure what the average was.
