Morning BTM...I pay for my diesel always on a CCand all repair bills as well..I use a cashback CC but always pay them in full at the end of the month.
Pity about the strike as like you say mass queues is it on for long?..Hope DD is sorted soon and that you get the answers as to what's wrong.
Sounds like a real busy fun weekend ahead for a change and at least you can relax ..which is a great idea as you have been working very hard recently...
Everything seems to be going really well for you now which is great news..take care x0 -
OH is just off the phone there. DD has to go in to the hospital for a week for tests. It's the top Neurologist about here so hopefullly they will get to the bottom of it. It's for the best.
I think the strike is only for two days but they need to close the plant for safety reasons and it takes 6 weeks apparently to get it up and running again. Surely they will bring fuel up from other depots as it will cripple the country as Grangemouth serves the whole of Scotland. It was ridiculous yesterday seeing the queues. Guaranteed most of them would have plenty of fuel and it was just panic buying. That's what causes the shortages. People are like sheep sometimes they see everybody else doing it so they do it. I wouldn't have fuelled up if I had enough for Tuesday. I'm glad I did now. They were saying in the paper yesterday that it could affect the North of England as well. Best bit is the strike is only for 48 hours and not to the end of the month. Lemmings the lot of them.
Should be a good weekend next weekend. The only downside is there is to much on. I might take the car on Friday night as I will struggle to make the bus at 3 if I am drunk. I am swithering about not going on the trip as it is a bit much.
Don't say things are going well that is when they generally go tits up:D£2 coin/ £460 -
I can't see them letting the whole of scotland come to a standstill..I think they will bring it from other depots.I asked in the garage down here if they thought it was going to happen here but they didn't even know about what was going on in scotland.
Has DD stayed in hospital just now or are they calling her back in?.It must be a worrying time for you all and hope she gets some good news soon.0 -
No she was allowed home today. Basically she will be going in when they have a bed for her. She was duveted up when I went down earlier on but she seemed to be her usual cheeky self. I bought them a nintendo wii today and apparently she was well enough to hog that:j :T :T I hope that when she go's in they get to the bottom of it. I think they will.
As to the fuel situation. OH got a text from Shell today confirming a fuel delivery tomorrow night. We are guaranteed diesel if they have it:eek: Joe and Joesephine public aren't. Not the best of situations.
Having a few:beer: tonight and making a curry that will do all week. Having a nice chill out night. OH says she is coming up I don't think I will see her tonight.
Cashed in the money today and got 10 £100 notes. Then promptly gave it to the OH within 5 minutes. It was nice to be rich even for a short time.
I can't wait to get saving again. Won't be this week though:( Decided not to go fishing after the night out. All it would take is one slip and I would end up in Perth getting fished out by the harbourmaster. To dodgy drinking to excess and then fishing a dangerous fast flowing river like the Tay. I will go on Monday instead.£2 coin/ £460 -
Hi there - good to hear you are so determined to pay off your debts. To be honest, I don't think it will take you that long to pay them off as you make such good money and seem to be getting a handle on things already. If you find yourself debt free at some point in the future, then you could really start saving money and think of ways to invest it so that you start building your assets. Not sure if you are in to reading, but if so, I recommend some books by a guy called Robert Kiyosaki, they are called 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' and the next book is 'cashflow quadrant'....they are fascinating and inspiring reading! Anyway, enough rambling from me. Good luck to you and have fun learning to manage your money! Butterfly x0

I am terrible with money when I have it. I am drifting back to my old ways, I can see that myself. I need to watch what I am doing. However I will be getting right back on track starting tomorrow. If I can get my Tesco card paid this year, get the hut built and manage a holiday I will be quite pleased.
Feels funny being skint again and not have any £2 or anything in the house.£2 coin/ £460 -
Hi BTM glad to hear that you've got the money for the hut:beer: :j  :j _party_ & hope they find out what is up with DD
You can't really believe how stupid people are with the petrol situation can you? I remember when petrol went over 80p a litre ( sounds great now:p ) & evryone went on strike, I spent my whole lunch break queueing for stupid petrol as I'd run out, behind idiots filling up cans & everything, all because they panicked!!
I think this credit crunch although real, is being hyped up by the press & panicking everyone, the worst of it is that I have to re-mortgage soon, although the mortgage advisor ( a friend ) has said not to worry at all, hope she's right!
Let's hope the weather gets better soon & you'll be sipping cocktails in your hut:TComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

Don't let the OH hear you calling it a hut. It's a Summer House. Or so I have been informed on at least a thousand occasions:D
OH'S DD is getting the best of care. She will be at her work tomorrow so it is serious but she is still keeping on going. Funny thing is she has just bought a house and things were really looking up for her and her partner. Then this happens. It is one of the reasons I want to be df. You never know what is round the corner.
I do believe the hype about the credit crunch I see it just now. Definitely not as much cash about as there was this time last year. Hopefully it won't last for long.£2 coin/ £460 -
Well here go's for another week. My main goal this week is to get my bank account back into a healthy state as it took a pummeling during the period I was saving for the hut. Also start saving for the £400 excess for the car door repair.
The small matter of a £94 overdue electric bill will have to be attended to as well.
Better shift I won't get any of that done sitting here.£2 coin/ £460 -
OOOOOOPS Summer House:p
I do believe there is a credit problem, but I think all the media attention has made everyone panic, though saying that, all I get all the time are things from the bank & credit cards asking me if I want money - perhaps it's just me, but all the time I've been in debt, I have been offered more & more credit & limits on cards have been regularly raised.
Having said that, glad I pulled my finger out when I did, as who knows , like you said, what's around the corner & had my 0 % come to an end & I had had to go on 20 odd %+ APR, things would have looked a lot different:o
Have a good day:DComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner
