does anyone know if the phone cover on the saxon policy includes mobiles?0

you will have to pay extra for it.
give them a ring or visit the website and fill in everything you need. https://www.saxoninsurance.com
some of the things that aren't covered by the normal cover are mobile phones and laptops, for obvious reasons

EDIT: sorry just looked at the website and it seems they dont cover it (mobile phones) which i guess is reasonable, considering the difference in phones etc, you may have to have a look at specialist cover for your phone, or just get a cheaper fone?Student Moneysaving Expert :beer:0 -

My laptop is worth about £1800 (without software) and I need to get it covered.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Does Saxon cover walk in theft (you know where you leave your door unlocked)? I can't find it on their website. I mean there must be something which makes it so they can be half the cost of Endsleigh with a £1000 laptop.0

Endsleigh and all the other student insurance services are onto a good thing. My son is covered by our household insurance. As long as his room has a lock (it has) and he is studying in the UK (he is) then everything is covered. My son's friend just spent £66 on student insurance which was totally unnecssary. Ring up your insurers first before you fork out anymore.Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0

Saxon work out more expensive for me because they say that I have to pay the rented accommodation insurance premium even though the halls I'm staying in has awards for security and has cctv everywhere and a 24hr security guard because it's not university owned, it's £50 more per year as well!!! Am gonig to cover myself on my mum's I think £100 a year nearly is too much.[FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it

Totally agree, lyniced - I'm amazed at how ready people are to fork out when they may already be covered - got to be worth a phone call to check, surely? My son is covered by our household insurance, no extra payable, even for things like computer, guitar, etc which he may take out of his room.[0
