anyone got a recipe for bread made with sun dried tomatoes?
There's a tomato focaccia recipe in the Panasonic manual. Ingredients are:
3/4 tsp yeast
400g strong white flour
1tsp sugar
1tbsp olive oil
1tsp salt
150ml passata
120ml water
& 50g sundried tomatoes.
It's cooked on Italian Bake setting for 4 hours - not sure how it works in a conventional oven or another type of BM
Hope I'm okay 'copying' a recipe like this - can a moderator let me know if I need to remove it? Thanks.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
Has anyone tried halving a 500g bread mix and baking it on 'small'? I bought lots of Hovis ready mix but find the loaves too large!
BTW Dove organic white strong flour is cheaper than the ordinary bread flour at Asda, it was about 95p. It was not with the flours but with the baking ingredients under the organic sign.:jPreemie hats 9 :j0 -
I have had mine a couple of weeks now and really love it, however the cake recipies are a little limited. Is there anywhere else/does anyone have any other tried and tested panny cake recipies I could try?0

you can pretty much use any bread machine cake recipie. Like you, I wanted to try some different cakes so I bought myself a bread machine book which has some nice cakes in it. .
Must say though, I love my panny :happyhear last night I made the honey and sunflower seed loaf from the Panasonic manual and had some toasted this morning. It's just so lovely, here's a picture of when it came out:0 -
Whoops...I suppose it was only a matter of time! Tonight, I carefully put all the ingredients in the pan, set the machine going, pottered around the kitchen putting away the washing up THEN SPOTTED THE BLEEDING PADDLE ON THE DRAINING BOARD!!!:eek:
I tipped everything out and put the paddle in and reassembled it so hopefully it's OK, it wasn't on timer so I'm hoping it doesn't matter that it's all mixed up!!
What a silly moo I am!
Lovely bread Jenny,,,,I haven't tried that recipe yet but I make all my bread with honey rather than sugar.Piglet

Mmmm, the loaf looks scrumptious. I haven't tried honey but I always use olive oil instead of butter.
JennyW, please can you tell me the title and author of the bread machine book you bought? I'd like to try some different cakes before I put the machine away, till I lose some of the weight I've added since buying it!!Preemie hats 9 :j0 -
Andy_Hamilton wrote: »The recipie I have listed above is for a MEDIUM loaf which uses less yeast. Panasonic changed there basic recipies when they moved to the newer designs to cut down on salt and sugar intake.
Try using your own medium loaf setting with 1/2 tsp extra sugar and yeast. It will come out massive. If your happy with that tast but the air pockets are too big try the same recipie on sandwich loaf seeting.
Doh! I should have checked this thread before putting the bread on. I thought I'd read that you use 1/2 tsp less sugar to give a taller, lighter loaf. I ended up with a brick. A tasty brick, but a brick.
We still ate it allsome people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -

ha, ha. This has happened to me. Like you I fumbled around and managed to put the paddle back in - the bread turned out fine
I'm thinking of making soda bread and my manual says to add Buttermilk, and has included the recipe in the CAKE sectionThe soda bread I have bought in the supermarkets isnt cakey. Do Panasonic have a different interpretation of Soda bread?
