When my 255 kneads it squeaks! The 254 didn't:confused: .

It sounds as though it is normal then. I have not heard a lot of people mention it though.

    Thank anyway

Have bought a loaf tin today because of the hole in the middle of the loaf issue, can someone advise that I use the dough setting then take it out knock it down and then rise it again then bake it?

    Thanks :)

Yes, though IMHO it's an awful lot of work not to mention the extra electricity, having your oven on to bake it. Is the hole such an issue? I only have the tiniest hole in my loaves- the kneading blade stays in the bread pan so I don't have to dig it out.:confused:

So it has squeaked in the past? but now it has stopped. Mine squeaks all the time on the kneading process.

After loads of wonky slices I tried a cutting frame which guides the knife but it used to fall to bits.

I was just about to give up making home made bread but thought I would buy an electric slicer instead. This morning I bought http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20080505.p.Electric_Food_Slicer.ar10

    It cuts the bread perfectly!
    I'm now a happy bunny!
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:

It certainly looks the business but, I'm trying to save money by baking bread - it's going to take some time to recoup cost of panny - never mind buying a slicer too!!:D:D

If something becomes a chore then it is likely not to be done. The Panny is effortless and I'm happy to fill it up because of the free house freshner but I find it a pain cutting. Making sandwiches for work and they have to look ok. I made a 4" thick sarnie and got so much abuse (and a sore jaw).
I now get 11 slices plus 2 crusts so probably save a few pennies but I must have saved a fortune not nipping to the supermarket for bread and milk.
