Yes, my local Vet recommends PetPlan and I have both cats insured with them.0

You'll find most vets will recommend them as they're good value for money and settle claims promptly "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will" "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Just put the term "pet insurance" is quotes like I have done here!0

Marks and Spencer seems good to me, however they are very slow in sending out policy documents, I had to chase them twice. I have not made a claim tho. I had Pet Plan for my Westie, until he was 7 then they put the premiums up so high I couldnt afford them.0

That's the long-term plan, but until there's a safe amount of money stashed away I'd rather not take the risk! Was speaking to a colleague the other day, and a friend of his had to fork out over £2k for operations -- that's a fair amount of stashing! Granted, that's the exception rather than the rule, but IMO it still pays to be prudent where a 'loved one' is concerned!0

I used to be with PetPlan. I cancelled the policy as after a few claims for oral work they decided to no longer let you claim for dentistry. They said it was for cosmetic purposes!!! Plus, i feel it very wrong to pay £75 per claim, in addition to paying your premium. (I know that I agreed to that when taking it out) Thats living in London for you!Ben

I agree with you and especially if you only have 1-2 pets then it makes sense to be insured, but those with several animals would find insurance rather expensive and would benefit more from saving a regular amount for vets bills.
Obviously it's a personal choice and it would be sod's law to run into problems costing £1000's if you didn't have the insurance "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

It's also worth looking at NFU policies as they now cover small domestic animals as well as horses and livestock, and I've had very good experiences with them in the past "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will" "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
