Afternoon all
Well I was woken up by A jumping on the bed and almost rattling me out of it! She'd tried to wake W up so they could give their cards and pressies to me but he just turned over and went back to sleep :rotfl: I got three beautiful cards including 1 HM one, a pair of soaks, a lovely skirt, an atrificial flower arrangement made at cubs last week and a posy of paper flowers made yesterday whilst I was at MIL's so all in all a very spoiled mummy here. Brekkie in bed as well so can't complain.
We went down to church, family service and more flowers. Then decided, once i had found my purse, to go to morrisons cafe for lunch and we bought ratatouille to watch this afternoon! Well I dozed for a lot of it (need to catch some sleep up somewhere this week) but they loved it so I am fairly pleased with my lot today.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Afternoon all
DS gone back home nowbut it was lovely to have him here for a couple of days. Next time I'll see him will be in May when we're going to visit him in his new flat.
Did (another) three loads of washing today, luckily it was sunny and breezy again so it all dried well. All folded and put away.
And I cooked and cleared up a roast dinner.
That's about it.0 -
Hello.
Had nice day up until i was rammed by trolley in ikea and spent three hours in a&e with a broken wrist. In plaster for weeks and it's true what they say...ikea is an evil place!
On a positive note DH not going away this week to help me with children. No flying done. xx0 -
Sorry if my post sounded curt...it's not. It's just hard to type!!! xx0

DustyK and Crafty - big group hugs - I understand both sides of the story :grouphug: but let's all forgive? Dusty, you're a valued member of this board, please stay, I need your valuable surveillance skills for  ORF  and Crafty, you're welcome too and I'm sorry about your adoptive Mum. Have you tried to contact your birth Mum?
I've lost my Mum and my Dad and feel sad on days like today. However, I used to get really p*d off with my ex husband because he would always by me Ferrera Roche (spelling?) chocs which I hate with a vengeance - no matter how many times I told him I didn't really like them, he still bought them and expected my to be grateful! Fortunately, the !!!!!! of a control freak is no longer part of my life...
AnW'smum - what's a pair of soaks? I know I'm an old soak, and judging by the accidents Pigpen keeps having when pubs are involved, I suspect she may be a very small one on the side(no offence meant Pigpen!!!!) but I don't think the pair of us turned up at your door as a present today...
DD came round today and bought with her the most beautiful potted cascading orchid but Eeeek  I've never had an orchid before. The care instructions were totally illegible and so I've had to look up how to care for it on the web. I think I understand, but it may be a very shortlived orchid...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

i have just type a long winded post to put onto the boards and then went and LOST it all. so decided to come and have a read and then read the above. which was very pertinent to me for today (and was about what my lost post was about and my feeling's regrding today)
They say that time is a great healer but for me personally time is making me feel more. i will explain as briefly as i can.
I lost my mum just under 2 years ago and it was mothers day that we had the daignosis that her lung cancer has spread to the brain. so today is hard for me too.
I'm having some problems with DD2 to the extent that she has totally ignore today in fact spent most of it in her bedroom ( she is 18yrs and working) and then to top it all. last week she asked if thier was anything i would like and i said yes. a book that i wanted and maybe a hour of your time.
well you Guessed No hour
and this morning she said i didn't get you the book as couldn't be bothered so i'll give you the money next week so YOU can get it. as i want to use the money to go out tonight.
Well my words were " forget it i don't want to buy it myself" i really don't want it now. what i really wanted was the other thing i asked for to which she replied oh that well i'm going out.
Am i or was i being unreasonable
sorry to waffle on i just feel so bad today£2 Pig has £86 in his Tummy. I am seriuosly Become a O/S Saver0 -
I don't think you were being unreasonable bebee, it's the thought that matters. The time spent getting what you wanted (and listening to what you wanted and not just getting the easiest thing). I expect in years to come she will realise how much these things mean.0
