Kids watching a film and eating popcorn and I'm drining wine - bliss. They have been fed and my tea is nearly done. Fire blazing arn't we the traditional family (for 30 minutes)The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Tia horrendous about the branch - glad you and the car ar OK. You need to get in touch with your local council and tell them about it so they can force the tree owner to make it safe. And I hope your power doesn't fail.
It's quite breezy here tonight on the South Coast but not too breezy to worry about things.
Well, flying has flown out of the window today. I have done nothing. Nada. Zilch. Diddlesquat on the household front (unless you take into account the stew in the slow cooker, the general tidying up etc.) Instead, in between doing Work work, I've been doing Community Stuff.
An opportunity arose this morning for the local community group I'm involved with to apply for some funding with which to do some nice things for the local wildlife. But, the grant application has to be in within the next two weeks. So, I've been trying to fill in the application form all day. Am almost there. Have someone coming round tomorrow to help finalise it so keep your fingers crossed the money is granted.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Finally finished catching up! Took me all day, from page 19 I think. My boss had the cheek to come into work early yesterday and was in most of day before so couldn't have a little look.
Hardly done any flying this week, been absolutely shattered when home from work and don't know why. Going for it tomorrow though and we are going to start on the garden, get it ready for my veg, do proper border thingys and the kids are have a pot each to plant some, should be interesting!
LG - Congratulations, when people give you their opinion say 'thanks very much I'll think about it' and then do what you want. My mum, bless her likes to take over, if you know what I mean. Even she said, as hard as it was, she only helped when I asked.
Vinyl for Kitchen - Sorry can't remember who was talking about this. 2 or 3 joins in a kitchen is a lot. How big is your kitchen! (I work in a carpet shop) Did you know you can get vinyl which is 4mtrs wide (in normal measurements thats 13ft 1inch). Hope this is helpful. If you kitchen is extremely big, can I have it please!!!!
Pigpen - go for the course, I'm always saying I want to go to college and do something, but never got round to it. Now DH works offshore and mum has dd2 3 days a week can't really ask for more babysitting services. Will maybe look at learn direct as long as don't have to travel to college to take exams.
Soappie - Operation ORF was very dissapointing for you today, hopefully they will be back next week so you can catch them. Who was it who saw the car?
AanW's - Good luck for tomorrow. Hugs (and to all those who are feeling poorly)
Have a good weekend, we are off to see Elvis Impersonator (obviously!) Sat nite. DH said did I want to go to see him and then for a meal with mil and fil, I said ohhh that would be nice (thinking mothers day treat for me) WRONG, he then said it will be mil's mothers day present - bloody charming!
I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I know I have 2 made mothers day cards from dd's and went to mothers day assembly and they all sang to the mums, I cried!! It was lovely.
Catch up later, bye for nowNeed to sort my life out! :T0 -
No need for me to fly at all this weekend OH off work today and has blitzed-even you would be impressed pigpen-top to bottom in nooks and crannies, office done, bedrooms done, bathroom and the toilet:T tea cooked kids bathed and bed, DS to karate, dog walked and I had 2 glorious hours of me time at the hairderssers! :j

Hi, I'm a bit late reading the posts today! It's only day 5 for me, already I struggled to find my motivation. I know, I should be ashamed.
I checked the online banking to find OH's wages down by 1day, he had 3 days off with flu, previously got paid in full when off sick, they decided to pay 2/3 this time. Wouldn't mind but its only his second time off sick in just over 4 years. Sorry but I had a rant and a sulk for 1/2 hour, I worked overtime last week for nothing!
Anyway, got there after cooking tea, (Shepherds Pie, with meat stretched to provide lunch with pasta tomorrow.) Got the kids to do a 10 min tidy before starting in their rooms. I used to do it all myself, why??? OH changed their beds. Hope a team effort counts just as well.
Looking forward to an easy weekend and a lazy mothers day! ha ha!0 -
I am hoping pigpen gives us Mam's the Sunday off, maybe half the usual weekend tasks, but I can't see it :rotfl: I'll still be cooking/cleaning etc as usual anyway, I would have suggested (because noone else would think to) to go out for dinner as a break but then it's the worry of the cost and I know it'll be packed in the local pubs with people doing the same thing. So cooking as usual!
I'm wondering when to sort giving my Mam her present, I might go and suprise her after work as I think she'll be going through to her Mam's house on the evening. One day I might be more organised...........

I have to admit I fancied going out to lunch, other years I wouldn't have thought twice, my how quickly this site makes you see sense.
