code-a-holic, thanks for the info on the rug doctor, it sounds very similar to the way the vax works, wonder if I should just try the stuff in my vax, see I am a tight sod really! I have cream carpets in the hall and on the stairs, not my choice however, nightmare! Saying that the worst carpet in the house is in DS2s room and it's dark blue!

AnW'sMum, your SIL sounds like a right wet lettuce, not on expecting you to deal with everything, slap her with a smelly kipper from me :D

embb, to be honest the discounts off properties seem to be reducing, I am doubtful that there will even be a discount in the not so distant future, not the bargain they used to be already, but yes if you'd be better off financially paying mortgage instead of rent, I'd take advantage of any discounts going.

Sheesh it's windy again out there, bloomin' freezing from walking down for DS2, so sat with a laptop on my knee, cuppa (made my own seen as tia supped them all) and a sultana scone (anyone want one?) I did the 2pm onwards HHC, cleaned the ovenmate off the oven (it wasn't that dirty but I am not that impressed with the bottom of the oven will see what the racks turn out like) filled washing machine, dragged the bins in so they don't blow into the cars, managed to get another part of a question answered (well I think it's right anyway), dogs groomed, poop cleaned up (but they've just done more) looked sternly at some pointing which has come off the roof, looked up and prayed for the roof to manage fine without it. Got all carried away and worked until I went to get DS2.

I need to help DS2 with his 'time to talk' stuff, so he doesn't have to talk as much (something he doesn't find easy) his teacher suggested pictures and a write up they can help with. Well of course he wants to do about wolves, so working on it now......

Pink Fairy - can he use some of the pictures you sent me please :D

Might have to go to Tesco too, I don't want to, it's all windy :( but we need 2 new keyboards now. Oh and DS2 opticians appointment tomorrow AM, anyone fancy wrestling with a 7 stone + 7 year old to get the drops in his eyes? Think will have to get DP up to do it, took me and 3 nurses last time.
One day I might be more organised...........

I am just sitting down to a nice warm cuppa after venturing out to the washing line to bring in the 4 loads of washing that has been done today. It is mostly all dry, only a couple of items to go on the radiators now.:D

I have not got much done in the kitchen yet really, logged off work at 3pm and did my exercises (bum is still sore) and then did the washing so think I deserve a rest for now. I will be doing HHC at 4.30, I don't know why having that timer set makes a difference but it does. Gotta finish the washing up and clean the surfaces first and then I will decide what to tackle next.

Dining room is a mess as DH has decided that is the best place to make DS's castle!! so will do my best in there but not feeling too optimistic about that one.

Hugs AnW'sMum - but only enough of a hug to not set you off! xx

Pigpen - I haven't laughed so much in ages about your antics. Sorry, i'm not as polite as the others at hiding my laughter. Love your eyes....they are soooo you!

Lil_me - the only other courses I can find are £1900 as they're privately run. Funnily enough I can't afford that!

Anyone up for a hhc? 430 until 5? xx

    Afternoon all,

Didn't make work today, was awake at 2 being sick, just started to feel better about 5 when DD2 started throwing up so have spent the day in PJ's cuddling up on the sofa. I finally feel human again but she is still quite poorly.

Mudbath will join you for the HHC only because I need to empty the DW as the breakfast dishes from OH & DD1 are still lying on the kitchen table.
Pigpen sorry to read of your fall but it did make me laugh.
  • i've done virtually nothing today. Thought i would get loads done, but i went really sleepy again this afternoon so dozed on the sofa, and eventually persuaded DS to have a nap at 3:30ish. The only productive thing i did was ring my lovely sister and have a natter to her and sort out that she will have DS tomorrow for me. I could probably send him back to nursery as he isn't actually unwell, but easier to do it this way in case he needs to be picked up again, and also he may avoid the other nasties doing the rounds. Lucky it is my late start tomorrow, and i don't need to be stood in front of a class until 11:15.

Did i mention DH spotted a job he was interested in? About £15,000 a year more than he is currently on. Maybe a bit of a career leap, but if you don't ask you don't get. The scarier thing is, this is pretty much my salary if he got it, which although i don't want to give up work, always leaves that as an option if it all stays too much. Did i mention my head of faculty gave me another rollicking before i even took my coat off this morning, all because i was in the same room as someone else having a ranting session. I was proud cos i stuck up for myself anyway, as i said the only thing he could rant at me for was having a cup of tea in the same room as the other two involved, and listening to their conversation. Plus, with 4 weeks to go i have too much to do to get involved in this sort of thing. Anyway, back to plan A - spend most of my time in my room, and not let the plonkers get to me. Worry about it in a years time.

Going to attempt to do something, even if all it is is stick something in the oven for DS for tea. I'll hopefully have some energy when DH gets in later to sort that ironing pile.

    Michelle, x

HHC go on then, i think i need one

anw's mum passing you a wet kipper too, give her it. She must know the stress you are under.

i'm avoiding those germs that our delightful children seem to be spreading around, and i will see what i can get done. Might wake me up a bit.
  • You lot do go on, don't you!!!

Mumofjusttwo - well done - you've done amazingly well today :T I'm not in from work until gone 7, so will only just be starting then - don't think I'll get everything done somehow!

AnWsMum - I think it will be really helpful to actually visualise the slapping with a wet fish thing next time you talk to her.......

pigpen - oooh, oooh where did you get your hubby prodding sharp stick from? I want one, I want one.

Now this may be complete bunkum, but I heard that when you shampoo a carpet you wash the scotchguard off, so it might be worth investing in some, and then it won't need redoing so often. Maybe - don't actually know

Excuse me but I beg to differ, you are doing a very productive thing 24/7 at the moment growing a new bro for Charlie :) Make sure you last few weeks at work are as stress free as possible.

And as for SIL didn't you know the world revolves around her???????? Apparently she will have no one when her mum and dad die, she will be all on her own. The fact that she has a DH and two boys seems to have totally passed her by. Even though DH is no longer here I know I will never be alone, A & W will make sure of that!

Anyway enough negative emotion, it serves no purpose, onwards hup two three four.....

    Good afternoon ladies!

Didn't post much last week but did keep up with loads of flying so, was pleased with myself. Have just caught up with last weeks thread (scanned through) and todays posts.

Hugs to AnW's Mum and to others that need them.

Pigpen - OUCH! Your story made me laugh but I feel your pain - especially after your pic of that bruise..... Hope you can sit down at some point today.

OH has a footie injury, bit of fluid on his knee, you'd think he's broken it the way he's milking it....!

Right, just printed off the list for today - kitchen half done already so will post my progress tomorrow morning.

Have a good night everyone! :)
