DS2 thrown into his bed for a nap, DS1 playing xbox, WM done, dishes done, one bag unpacked, I need a nap, living room is a mess!
I have no idea where to start, think I am going to quickly hoover and neaten the living room then sneak upstairs for a nap while DS1 plays xbox and another WM load is on.0 -
code-a-holic let me know what the rug doctor is like, I have a vax but hoping to get something stronger for the hall carpet, I had it professionally cleaned but to be honest I am not that impressed once it's dried.
embb thanksfeeling a bit more positive about it and a little less stressed which is good. Right to buy? things must be going well. Nice to see you popping in aswell.
Michelle, please Charlie isn't too poorly with it. Nurseries can sometimes seem a bit over cautious but schools are here aswell with all of the infection control guidelines etc. We have strict rules now where a child can't return to school within 48 hours of the last vomit/runny poop episode, previously it was 'oh they seem better send them back whenever' or '**** was sick this morning but seems fine now so he can stay' which wouldn't be done now. Anyway enjoy the day off it's allowed you, like I said clouds sometimes have silver linings, I'd rather look after an ill tot than 30 rowdy teenagers any day!
Right, racks in bag, don't think I will bother with the ovenmate again as it's a right faff on, need to get them all rinsed soon, sinks tiny so do I throw them in the dishwasher because I am lazy? One day I might be more organised...........

I put mine in the bath and just shower them Lil-me, saves a lot of faffing about.
LO deposited at nursery, anyone up for a HHC at 2?The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
lil_me - throw them in because you know it makes sense0

See I thought that too! Bath, hmmm, that's why I bought ovenmate because I usually did them in the bath with bio powder until we moved and there is a jacuzzi in the new one, I don't want to break it.
Chasingbutterflies nice one for getting a new oven, have you thought of giving the old one away on freeycle? It may still be of use to someone, I've had someone collect one with a broken door as she was just going to use the hob and grill to put her over. Good way of getting it removed to if you put must collect.
Oh eeek I forgot, black tray, grill thing goes on it, fits in the oven, I don't know what it is made of or how long to leave it in the bag, thinking now should I have put it in?One day I might be more organised...........

LOL I must be doing something wrong the amount of time for chatting on here !!! I still haven't finished the kitchen though have deep cleaned from top to bottom - all cupboards (and on top !!) have been cleaned out, all woodwork washed, all window ledges wiped and sorted, all dishes done and put away, WM on x2, TD on and finished, floor scrubbed, cookery books sorted in to order - lol - I am knackered now !!!
Going to just basic clean the dining room and rest of house and then will see what is on Fly List for tomorrow ad deep clean another room and basic clean kitchen and then the house SHOULD stay tidy - well we can always hope !!!
Hope everyone is doing ok - not had time to read all the messages yet - lol

Hi Lil me....
The rug doctor is a fab machine - i hire from Morrisons. costs £18 for 24 hrs and you buy a detergent which you keep then thats about £5 (various sizes available). You fill it with hot water and then spend lots of time going backwards around the house!
Its quite heavy and fairly noisy, but i find that reasuuring...its definatly working hard. You can see marks dissapear after going over once that i have scrubbed loads of times over months. The floor is left a bit damp, so we do it in the evening, dry by morning and no lingering smells. There is a hand held bit as well to go around the edges or sofas etc. The floor is soft to walk on afterwards.
Our neighbour has cream carpets (fool!) and in 5 years they had gathered lots of splodges and were looking yuck. more grey than cream. One go a few months ago and they are a huge improvement, looks bright and no wierd marks! And as we go halves we are hooked on using regularly to keep prestine (3 toddlers between us who like to drop jam and toast!)0 -
