Sorry, just been real busy today and not had the laptop on this evening! I'm cool, coping better and enjoying a sober life now...still have daily thoughts that aren't great but now nearly managable. Day 50 for me tomorrow, I can hardly believe it

lurking and occasionally posting...another one of those days where I could easily have found reasons to get off my face....really glad I didn't...

out of curiosity, if you have to walk down the aisle of shadow at the supermarket, do you walk right down the middle so that you're as far as possible from any of the bottles & cans?...you know in case they try and grab you.....

any way...off now..be good ...50 up for Jo...I'm so pleased!

:rotfl: I don't find they try to grab me...they used to sing at me, 'choose me, choose me'- I remember when I was on one of my relapses a couple of years ago and I got 'caught' in the 'sceptic ailse' by some neighbours who looked suitably embarrased (because everyone knows you have a problem - but they don't like to 'mention the war') so I grabbed a bottle of rum (and said I was going to start my christmas cake) so I then had to go around and get all the other ingredients because I thought I might get caught out at the checkout- so spent £22 on christmas cake stuff so I could justify a bottle of rum and it was only february, so who on earth did I think I was kidding???!!! Needless to say I necked the rum and the christmas cake never materialised- still got all the dried fruit in the cupboards come to think about it- yuk (note to self- clear the cupboards). Just goes to show when you're in that place, and you can't control your drinking, any feeble lame untruth will do as long as you have your alcohol security blanket to go home too....bad times indeed.

Morning all,

I know, 50 days today, can you believe it - time is aflyin!! Would be 51 if I didn't have that one glitch which is well and truely forgotton now.

Another positive I've noticed is the money. I've not been saving my beer money everyday (wish I had!) but I have noticed although I don't have any extra spare cash and I still run out before the end of the month, I'm not scraping around to find money to buy food for dinner everyday or panicking that I've got no petol and no money to stick a fiver in to get me to work.

Bis, I'm still at the stage where I have to be very careful in the aisle where satan lives....I have frequented a couple of times and each time I shout 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO' in my head so loud to distract myself :rotfl:

I walked into my local Mr T's the other week and they had a special on a box of beer and as I was walking past it I swore at it, out loud I might add, oh and also I was by myself :cool:

Morning everyone

I try not to walk down THE aisle Bis, but if I have to, I walk straight down the middle looking right ahead.
If I am with DD then I am ok. Sometimes then, I look at all the wine at half price , point it out , say thats a bargain..and then 'but I dont drink anymore' shrug shoulders and walk away.LOL:D

Mine too! Thought it was my computer!

Im off to Cyprus tomorrow and so won't be on here for a week or so. I will be drinking but won't be overdoing it. Keep up the good work abstaining/cutting down everyone!:T
