    Hello all,

This is the first night in on a friday I have had in years. I am 23, and priorities in life are changing, so I am going to have to change with them.

I am finding it really hard though, already had 10 texts from friends asking why I am not out tonight etc!

How do you all cope with the boredom? I have cleaned, cooked and now watching Big brother. :(

signing in as a grumpy, growling at everyone, fed-up non-drinking frustrated grumpy-a***e.....

no biscuits, no sweets, no cakes, no beer.......

just in that kind of mood for reasons I can't explain... I will be sober tomorrow but it's tough tonight!
For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 2007

    Hello all, how are you?
I'm struggling a bit tonight, had a really stressful day at work and I'm quite cross that it's affecting me!
I think I probably will have a drink but only the amount I'm 'allowed'. Still, I'm pretty pleased as had 3 AFD' s in total this week, a new record!!
Bismark, keep at it and Molly, glad you seem to be feeling better than earlier today.
    Good Luck everyone.

    Morning all.

Hope there aren't too many hangovers this morning.

This week I have survived a wedding with free booze and a corporate hospitality event - loads of free booze and free transport too, but still AF.

Met a guy at the wedding who had just celebrated 10 year AF.

He just decided to stop one day and has never had a drink since.

He tells me his kids say he is a much nicer man to live with now.

So onwards and upwards and make sure you face the temptation, look it in the eye and know you are better than that.
  • Morning all, well another sober one under my belt, that makes 4 this week, am having a drink tonight but none again tomorrow (well, that is my plan!) so hopefully will have done 6 again this week:beer:

Going to Eden Camp in Malton with OH and DD today, has anyone been? I am looking forward to it, OH is a big war fan, he used to be in the army as a medic and loves all things war related! will be good for DD too as she is starting her GCSE's in September and is taking History as one of her options.

Hope everyone has lots of plans to keep busy and alcohol free/cutting back,

Bismarck - hope you are feeling better today, like Molly says maybe you need to allow yourself a few sweet 'treats' to keep the demons at bay?

Alisong - how many are you allowing yourself? (if you don't mind me asking!)

    Molly, hows things?

Fieldofdreams - did you make it to day 12?

Newbies - welcome aboard and good luck :T

Jo - As long as you are happy with your counsellor that's all that matters, how did you get on yesterday did you get enough 2 can vibes to cope?
  • Hi shopaholictiedtheknot - well done for your sober night last night :D

Hope you have a nice day out today
Glad to say that I acheived AF day 12 :j

Really want to make it 13 - Sat night tonight so the hardest night of the week for me  . Will let you all know how I get on

    Morning all

I'll do some personals later, but kids are being very needy this morning so can't concentrate, took me an hour of having this page up before I even got to type on it!

Really happy with myself this morning, cos it was tough last night. I was a little like you Bismarck, well in fact a lot like you, I was miserable as sin and really horrible to be around, luckily OH went out otherwise he would've probably got the brunt of it. It was partly due to the fact that I could only have 2 cans, and partly because as OH was going out he wanted me to drive him to the station at 8.30pm which meant I couldn't even open the cans until I got back, plus I had really bad trapped wind which I wasn't expecting as I had had 2 cans the night before. But as I've never dropped to 2 before I didn't really know what to expect. Nevertheless, I did it, I was a miserable bar steward, but I did it and woke up feeling not too bad.

Eselt, thanks so much for recommending Senokot, got some last night on the way home as I had severe trapped wind and it's helped a lot today. You may just have given me the answer, as because of this problem that's the reason I drink again to get rid of it. So if these do work, then I can actually see this being slightly easier.

I hope you're all well today?

    xx
