Well done with knowing you can now cope ok mollypolly! I must admit to thinking "Oh dear!" when I started reading, but then my spirits rose (ooops, sorry about the unintentional pun!) as I got further into your post. So, very well done indeed, now you can go away and be able to celebrate both your wedding anniversary and taking hold of your little problem too!
All the very best and if I don't see you before you go, have a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoy celebrating all that wonderful time together!

Morning all. Went out to dinner & had coke (not the illegal variety!) so chuffed with that! Well done Jo & Molly polly - for me its the being in control that counts & us girlies can have a bottle & a half of wine a week so youre ok there MP! Lurkio & cabbagegrower (& any other lurkers who havent fessed up!!) its a personal choice & decision. Noone can do it for you and I guess the bottom line is you have to want to do it....maybe have a look here & have a think...

Eek! thanks ISOM that does bring it home!
I can say that apart from the blur that was the weekend (which is not a reflection of every weekend can I add!), I did only drink two bottles of wine and a few/six cans of beer instead of my regular wine cellar.
I will do better on the May bank holiday I promise xxx
I'm gutted I just don't have the motivation to pack the lot in - along with the cigarettes

It's a good sign here! Day 3
Nearly had a wobble on the way home as I had to pop into the off licence to get some electric, there isn't any other shop that sells it round here. But I only took enough money into the shop for the electric and nothing else. Had some orange squash as soon as I got in and now on the coffee which isn't good! Had a bad dream last night which is what happens when I have a few drink free days and too much caffeine!
Hope everyone is well?

well i managed a day so far have to admit it didnt seem hard for me ...i'm aware though that i dont want to get blazey about it all and just think hey i can do this ...i know i will have difficulites ...i think the reason i did so well was i was out all then then straight to work ...just came in gonna have dinner then bed for me as i'm up at 6 am for volunteer work ..it's the nights when i dont need to get up early the next day or drive the car is when i have problems ....the demotivator tool helped me alot ...i dont wanna work 1 hour more than i have to and i currently have to work over 7 weeks a year to pay for the alcohol that i dont enjoy ...why o why...0

 hey everybody,
I'm doing Ok on the drinking at home front - the tea and toast thing is working well for me, but I have an all day birthday extravaganza to go to tomorow which starts at noon on Saturday and ends when they chuck us out of the club at 4am on Sunday.
At the moment my plan is to go for the first leg, then make my excuses early evening - but it won't be easy to get away once I'm there, and we've all had a few....
We'll havw to see how I get on huh?
Oh and BTW alwaysamazed - for the moment at least - I am just "cutting down".
I want to be able to enjoy a drink when I consciously make a decision to do so, but I want to stop having the "automatic pilot" ones out of habit, cos I'm bored, or fed up, cos I'm too polite to turn a drink down, or "the bottle needs finishing" - or when I'm quite drunk enough already and I really don't need another drink!
That's the plan anyway!
