Hi all, well after the stag day on Saturday I managed to stay off the beer yesterday, saying that OH wasn't feeling too good so didn't have a drink so that helped me. This month I am going to have a go at seeing how many units I actually consume. Hopefully I don't have any nights that I can't remember how much I consume! The recommendation is 3 units a day so by rights I shouldn't consume more than 90! So so far I have drank 0/90 units!!Debt at LBM(July 1st 07)-£35,053.92 Debt on 1st Anniversary of LBM(July 1st 08)-£33,170.11 (31st January 09)-£32,318.73Paid off so far £2,735.19(7.8%) Average paid off p.m. £143.95 L/H supporter 115 DFD target February 2018 DFD March 2028. Woohoo no alcohol day for me yesterday, wish my book would bloomin hurry up!!
Hope everyone is ok? I am going for day 2 today, have loads of housework to catch up on as been spending all my time in the garden so hopefully that will keep me busy till bedtime0 -
Junes target of 25/31 is 2 days in & I havent had a drink.
Hi all, lots of well dones!
I am about half-way thro Allen Carr, there's a lot about choosing not to drink rather than seeing it as "giving up", I know we aren't all aiming to be completely on the wagon forever & for some of us it's to do with cutting down (erm, what WAS my point?), oh yes, cutting down still involves the same thing tho, I spose, cos to cut down you have to choose not to drink on some days. I would like to say thanks Samantha cos your approach (which I know you did last month but I completely failed to understand it!) has really clicked with me. I am aiming for 20 days this month - never one to rush things - which means I can (should I so desire...) drink on 10 so I actually find myself not wanting to drink today (this is Day 2 which is so nothing compared with some of you but huge step for me) in order to keep them in reserve. So rather than sit here on my own using my 10 days up I can keep them for an occasion (I wish!). Not sure that's the principle exactly but whatever works eh?
Last month I near as dammit drank 2 bottles of wine a day every day, & if not every day before that it was 3/4 times a week. I finally got the calculator out & make that a wopping 140 units a week (some are 14% tho if I remember I try & avoid those). I must be blessed with the constitution of an ox tho of course I don't know what's going on inside (2 yrs ago LFT was normal after similar, um, performance - much to the doctors disappointment as he was dying to give me a rollicking, but it can't go on forever, 2 yrs is a long time...).
No wonder I've put on weight!! How many CALORIES??!!
DON'T MENTION £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££
At least I'll get the end of Holby City tonight, it's been a while0 -

While I would like to say thanks, you give more credit that I deserve!
Its not a calculated approach, its just that if I say NO, NEVER, I will fall off the wagon before it even starts!
I think I know my limits, and becoming dry is a HUGH task and one not to be taken lightly - I know, how complacent can I get??
If I had no leaway, I would just drink the town dry and then move on to the next as a rebellion!
Good luck with the task ahead!Living debt free, since Sept 08 & Dec 10 :wall:

I've been camping sober too...........first time camping without drink as well even though my bf brought a bottle of wine. Can so relate to that drunken night wee...........tended to crouch behind the car / bush rather than tramp to the loos. <hangs head in shame>
