Happy Birthday to you
Just stick to Irn Bru
No curry for your dinner
And you won't need the loo.

Im nearing the end of Allen Carrs book "Easy way to Control Alcohol" and think its doing the trick. A lot of what he says is what Ive been thinking a lot just lately anyway but he has just put it into words. I watch programmes such as Coronation Street where they are always in the pub ordering drinks and laughing when someone has a hangover. It has been making me think that they shouldn't trivialise something like this. But then that is the norm in our society. Ive also been noticing a lot lately how irritating drunk people are and wondering if others have thought that about me.
When I was younger I didn't drink in the week and would just have a blow out on a Friday and Saturday night, sometimes getting too drunk and being ill. Now, in my 40's I never drink to the point that I am falling down or being sick but instead I have 4-6 vodkas or malibu's each night until Im just tipsy. I don't know which is worse really.
I had a glass of wine with my dinner last night and then didn't progress to malibu or vodka and tonight so far I don't really fancy one. I even walked past the wine section in my local CoOp today and didn't think "Yum!" as I went past!
I can't imagine being able to not drink on holiday in Majorca though but as its not until July I won't think about that just yet. I must finish the book anyway!0 -
